29-Day Giving Challenge

29 GIFTS -- GIVE A LITTLE BIT. MAKE A BIG IMPACT.

29 Gifts is a global giving movement with several thousand members in 38 countries. Our collective mission at 29 Gifts is to revive the giving spirit in the world. We change lives—and change the world—one gift at a time. You can learn more about how our 29-Day Giving Challenge works and sign up to join us by committing to give your gifts to the world.
29 Gifts: How A Month Of Giving Can Change Your Life is available in book stores now. 29 Gifts is the insightful story of how our founder, Cami walker, saw her life change as she embraces and reflects on the naturally reciprocal process of giving and receiving. By Day 29, not only had Cami’s health and happiness improved, but she had created a worldwide giving movement. The book also includes personal essays from others whose lives changed for the better by giving 29 Gifts. More than a memoir, 29 Gifts offers inspiring lessons on how a simple daily practice of altruism can dramatically alter your outlook on the world. Day 5 - 11.20

Today was a lovely day - I was able to give three gifts today, which I am excited about! I went to visit my sister and my friend Amanda today and had planned on bringing flowers and a great raspberry salsa, respectively. Both of which I did. But first I was able to do an impromptu lunch with my friend Di and realized that she was the person that I was to pass the '29 Gifts' book ( which I JUST finished) to. I think that she will really enjoy it. Such a fabulous day of giving!

Day 26: The Ripple Effect

Well, I can't believe that I haven't posted in 4 days, but have been busy with lots of small gives. I have taken the time to read books to my kids in the library during a very busy day, have given money to a homeless man outside of a gas station, bought a friend a bouquet of flowers and wrote her a card, convinced my father to join the 29 Day Giving Challenge, and gave a lot of time and little favors to my husband.

I am continuing to receive a lot of wonderful things from people. My husband off… Continue

three things that went well today

1. My dinner was delicious.
2. Mercy and luck were on my side
3. I gave a friend a lift and my meditation went well and left me in high spirits.

Day 24 - Boxes n' stuff

Today I gave 3 boxes full of stuff to an artist friend for her to use and pass on to others. I also gave her bubble wrap. :)

I also talked with my neighbor and tried to help him find calm in the storm of medical nightmares... then I sent him a message to remind him that he is greater than any diagnosis.

I am having a hard day. Yesterday my mother kicked my brother out of the house. It was difficult to see him emotionally broken, enraged, and totally remorseless for stealing. I hope that our tu… Continue

day 4 + 5

Yesterday I had to buy part of my grab bag gift that will be thrown into the mix at our Thanksgiving family grab bag. Yes, Thanksgiving grab bag. I bought a "FEED" bag at Whole Foods. It's $10 and its a donation to provide 100 meals to hungry kids. It unzips and becomes one of those reusable grocery bags. Today I gave a small tip to the woman at the bakery who sold my a blueberry muffin this morning.

Day 12

Happy Friday!

Shannon is at her father's for the weekend and she gave a gift and told me about it and I have no idea what it was.

Since Mark's death, I have had one friend who has really been extra-wonderful. On my way home from dropping Shannon off, I brought her favorite drink from Tim Horton's. She really wanted to pay for it but I told her it was a gift to her. I think I might give her the book (29 Gifts) to read.

Day 20 of Round ? - birthday gifts

today was my friend Brenda's birthday. i went over before she had to go to work and gave her a handmade birthday card and a sweet little retablo that came from Peru. it's like a tiny wooden house with a hinged door and inside is a Nativity scene made of tiny hand painted clay figures. she loved the present, but the card really got her - she got all teary eyed and hugged my neck.

i got a very special receive in the mail today - a card from Elly Rose and a picture drawn by her granddaughte… Continue

Share Love ~ Day 17

Today has flown by. There was so much to do, but I was able to accomplish everything on my "to do" list and crossed a few things off my list for tomorrow as well. Jeff worked from home today, which is always nice. I enjoy having him around. We actually have plans to spend some extra time together this evening, so I'm going to finish up here and get back to him.

Gave:
1. Prepared a special treat for everyone this afternoon.
2. Made arrangements for my Mom's upcoming trip since her… Continue

Day 21... Much better! :-)

Yesterday I got to school and realized that i had forgotten a lunch! My friend Katelyn very kindly shared her lunch with me so that i didn't starve to death. I was very grateful and so today I decided to bring some extra lunch money so that I could get her something. She was really excited and it felt great to put some effort into giving again!

DAY 10

It's Friday - YIPEE! It was a very productive day. I went to work and finished some projects. I then went and had my cards read - Cartouche cards. First time for it - and very interesting. My gift today was for the spiritual advisor that I met. I payed her VERY well. She read for 2 hours and only charged me for one. I couldn't do it to her so I paid her for 2 hours - she resisted but I insisted. I felt good about and she was great - and my reading was great. I also played a game with my daughter… Continue
