29-Day Giving Challenge

This month marks the beginning of the traditional holiday season, complete with Thanksgiving - a holiday devoted to being grateful for the bounty in our lives. It’s a time to take notice of what we have, whether that’s things, or people.

I have so much to be grateful for this holiday season - a thriving community of givers, a newly released book, wonderful friends and family, my health, and the opportunity to share the spirit of the 29 Gifts movement with thousands of people.

So in the spirit of the upcoming holiday, as well as that of our 29 Gifts Movement, I have decided to start this discussion in hopes that each of you will leave replies telling us 3 (or more!) things in your life that you are grateful for. What are you grateful for today?

I've also begun a Gratitude Greetings event for this month. You can read more and join in here:

I am grateful for my family, friends, and my health. I am thankful that I was blessed with a wonderful dad who had a wonderful life for 95 years! I am thankful that my great 93 year old mom is now close by and is not in any current pain.

In this moment, I am grateful for the loving, supportive relationships I have in my life. I have such caring and generous people to rely on at work, in my family, my spiritual life, and in my "urban" family that has been created in the city. I am also grateful to the children with which I work. They all have taught me so much in terms of love, joy, and honesty. Lastly, I am grateful for the abundance that has come into my life. I have a home of my own and I can take care of myself in a variety of ways. I am also able to share with others. I am truly grateful for all of these things.

Thank you, Cami for giving us a place to share our ideas, encourage others, and give to our community.

Just went through major surgery and am not close to family. So, when two brothers took it upon themselves to come from out of town to take care of me...... Not easy accepting help... But very appreciative. Initially a niece who I am very close to was to help but had some unexpected trauma in her life to take care of... tried to arrange things.... all in all... things happen for a reason.. I am thankful for all the people that I didn't know would come at a moments notice... came at a moments notice. Wow!!!!! Do I ever have a lot to be thankful for this thanksgiving!!!!

I have decided that giving is going to be my way of life. The joy is so overwhelming. And what I have been getting back just blows me away. If I could describe the biggest change that has occurred in my life in less than 2 weeks of giving, I would s…

My day started early with breakfast with a good friend. I gave her Christmas gift to her, an herb keeper. During the summer I would bring her herbs from my garden in a ziploc, but found a very cool herb keeper that holds them upright in a small amou…

I think your gift was your willingness to receive from your family. It sounds to me like your giving is wearing off on them - how loveloy!

How exciting to get your medicine necklace! I keep looking at that as a give to myself as well. I send prayers your way for your family - I'm sure your support of them during their time of need is a perfect gift!

Harriet, this is beautiful. You are sharing your faith in God. I like that your love (as well as your daughter's love by her mission work) is being "sent around the world." As the crosses are sentimental to you, you must have received word from God…
