29-Day Giving Challenge

Day 1
I heard that the Salvation Army needed Turkeys for Thanksgiving. Bought a turkey and gave it to tsa. What I noticed all day was a "lighter" feeling in my body and a deeper understanding of some of the people I came in contact with in an AA meeting I attend.

Day 2
Gave an aloe plant in a pot I liked to a women who has had 3 kinds of cancer and now faces a bioptsy December 1st for a "suspicious" area on her breast. I notice I am connecting with people in a satisfying way. My life long issue has been feeling excluded so this is major for me.

Day 3
Put money in the Salvation Army's kettle at the grocery store today, both going in and coming out of the store. Made me think of all the times I have passed this opportunity by while focusing on how much I lacked in my life! A few minutes later my phone rang and a new customer booked for a massage today!

Day 4
Made a phone call to a friend to wish them a happy Thanksgiving. Told him how grateful I am to have a friend like him. Even though we live hundreds of miles a part, keeping in touch is telling what that person adds to my life and how much he is appreciated. Bringing an extra gift to my daughter today to celebrate one of the most sharing and generous people I know! I am finding it rather hard to limit myself to one gift each day and so I don't!

Day 5
Found I have lots of material things aroung the house that I don't use or want anymore so when I went to a Thanksgiving gathering I wrapped one of these and wrote a nice card to the hostess for having the gathering. Later I had a change to give a six pack of root beer to a little girl who loves root beer. I am now finding that I look for opportunities to give and am so happy to be in this mind set!
