29-Day Giving Challenge

November 29th Giving Challenge: THANKSgiving Greeting Day!

Preparing for the holidays is a hectic time of year that can easily take our focus off why we gather together to celebrate Thanksgiving Day with our family and friends.  Whether cleaning the home for guests, shopping for dinner parties, sending invitations or finding that perfect outfit, remember to take a deep, relaxing breath and give thanks for the home you live in, the money to buy food and clothing, and for the people who have touched your life.

Please join us as we cultivate gratitude during THANKSgiving Month:  Each morning, list the top five things you're most grateful for and find a creative way to share one of the things on your gratitude list. At the end of every day in November, sit down with a cup of tea and a journal and reflect on the best thing that happened to you that day.

On November 29th - 29 Gifts THANKSgiving Day:  Send a card or letter acknowledging the person or persons who made the biggest impact on your life over the past month. Cards can be handmade or store bought, but take a few moments to write some personal sentiments.

Please share your THANKSgiving stories here.  We're grateful for your participation and inspiration!

Happy THANKSgiving!

P.S.  If you need a journal to write in, we offer both a printed copy and a downloadable copy in the 29 Gifts Boutique.

Count me in on this one Mary! :o)
Looking forward to it, Deb!
We have had a complete year of wedding bustle from a July wedding, July-Oct. showers, and an Oct. reception and honeymoon. November is our time of Thankfulness, appropriately. At present moment, I'm compiling the scattered lists of names, addresses & gifts into one place for my Lovely & I to begin our process. Soon though, we each will be writing handwritten notes of gratitude for the Prayers, Presence, Gifts and Service with which we have been blessed over the last year!
thank you for the ideas!
I will be all over this assignment!
Count me in too!
I will have this as my goal each day! Thanks for the great idea! -Jill
Great idea! Thanks for the inspiration!
Today's the 29th! Be sure to check back in here or in your giving blog and tell us who has impacted your life.

Happy THANKSgiving Day!

Mary
My second gift yesterday was to participate in the 29 Day Gift Challenge Thanksgiving Day.

I went to Target to pick up a postcard and I chose to send it to my Mother-In-Law who I just call MOM. She's not only made the biggest impact on me in the last month but she's been the biggest impact on my LIFE! She's the most caring, giving, loving and generous woman I know. When I was diagnosed with Cancer six years ago, I had only known her for about a month. Her son, my husband now, had met me about 2 months before and even though he was dating and involved with other women at the time, they stood by my side and fought the fight with me. Mom took me to chemotherapy sessions and radiation therapy sessions. She drove me home and took care of me, watched and sincerely suffered with me as I slowly deteriorated as the months went by, she fund raised for me, prayed for me and had her church congregation pray for me as well, shopped for me, cooked for me, cried with me... she was my angel and I got to know her through the worst time of my life. When all others fled, she remained loyal and supportive. She even paid thousands of dollars to find a bone marrow match and in the very end... I had days to live according to the doctors... She managed to find one! I was flown to California in a hospital bed and they performed the transplant there. She couldn't come with me but her spirit certainly was there because all I could think about was my husband, my daughter and MOM. She gave me hope and not just hope to survive but hope that there STILL are people in this world that are good and compassionate and selfless. There are people who are ANGELS and spread inspiration and love to world with no intention but to help and heal the world. My mother-in-law, Nidia Rodriguez, is the recipient of my Thanksgiving Day Gratitude Card and it barely begins to express how much she means to me.
What a wonderful story and give! Blessing you and yours with all your heart desires!
