What a blessing to find this group! Two days ago I was laying on the couch in much pain from a fibro-flare up feeling very sorry for myself. The radio program I was listening to did an interview with Cami. Boy, could I relate to her story! I'm ready with a new frame of mind to begin my 29 days of giving.

LOL - Allie, I cut off the tips of some kneesocks and made holes for the thumbs - my hub called me a bag lady, too. Funny thing - the original bag ladies were right on! Have you seen how many "fingerless gloves" are sold on etsy.com? They should get royalties!

Thanks Stacey! Acupuncture has once again seemed to help a today. So happy that even though I was skeptical at first I tried it a few months ago. My husband calls me the bag lady because well, I often wear gloves with the finger tips cut out of them to keep my hands feeling warm and better and I push around one of the small metal shopping carts with all of my stuff for work :). I just got back into knitting..after years of not being able to do it, I now can again! It is so nice :).

Hi Allie the Holidays can be especially difficult sometimes, even though we enjoy them we often have to "pay"for them as well, especially when travelling. Althought this won't help with the patting or rubbing I read on a fibro web site recently(FM Network) about a special help for someone having difficulty holding a baby comfortably. It is called a "Boppy" and it helps you to rest your arms while holding a baby, also for knitting and reading as well. You can get this at Target, Bed,Bath, and Beyond, or Babies R Us. Just something to think about. It is amazing how many helpful things there are out there! We can use all the aides we can get to make our life easier and to make sure we do not miss any of it! (especially those good times) I hope you recover quickly and feel better soon.

i got to hold my baby niece over the holidays and i couldnt figure out why my hands were soooooooo horrible. the next day, i took care of her some and started to realize quickly the cause! the constant rubbing and patting on her back was what was causing all of my pain. it is now 4 days since and i am still having a hard time. i am a 26 year old newly wed who has always dreamed of being blessed with children. ive spent hours upon hours worrying that i wouldnt be able to always care for my children with the pain but well unfortunately, this opened my eyes a bit. clearly, im not going to let the fibro take control and run my life so my husband is in charge of figuring out an interesting way for me to take care of our hypothetical babies :). in tons of pain today from sleeping in unfamiliar beds and driving 9 hours each way in a car to our family. i am looking forward to my acupuncture today! i hope everyone had a nice holiday and is feeling good today!

I think your gift was your willingness to receive from your family. It sounds to me like your giving is wearing off on them - how loveloy!

How exciting to get your medicine necklace! I keep looking at that as a give to myself as well. I send prayers your way for your family - I'm sure your support of them during their time of need is a perfect gift!

Harriet, this is beautiful. You are sharing your faith in God. I like that your love (as well as your daughter's love by her mission work) is being "sent around the world." As the crosses are sentimental to you, you must have received word from God…
