I go to this site and click for free, clicks go to give free Mammograms. There are also tabs to click for hunger, rain forest. literacy, animal rescue and child health on the same page! If you have time to click 12 tabs, you can give 6 ways a day!
You can sign up for a daily reminder to do so.

How about homework help or helping at the schools. They are always looking for readers for story time. How about just looking out for kids or pets that are in the neighborhood. A smile to a person that looks really down or crabby is a non material giving. I love to get an unexpected smile. Makes me wonder all day if I know the person. It just changes my attitude. Just asking if someone needs help with something is non material. Don't forget to pray or send love. A teacher just gave one of my grand children the gift of recognizing that she needed extra help in an area and suggested a program that will really help her in school. That is a huge gift for the rest of her life.

Simply reading poetry to someone is a Giving Idea with panache. I was so taken by the gift I received from the poetry of Joan Gelfand that I wanted to share this special artist with all of you. I heard her read in San Francisco at the launch of her new book, A Dreamer's Guide to Cities and Streams. In a word, her poetry is: POWERFUL. At the same time so connectable!

Non material giving - do these count? - Giving advice, giving someone a complement, giving someone your time and attention, volunteering, giving way to other cars and pedestrians, letting others go in front of you in a queue if it looks like they're in a hurry, giving someone your heart totally and completely, giving someone a poem or quote, giving a kiss, giving someone your forgiveness. Not in any particular order of importance obviously.

I love the residential home idea - I used to do a tour of my home town with my flute and some christmas music - just did a couple of requenst and spent time chatting and reminiscing about christmas past with the residents. I think I will do it again as part of this year's giving pledge.

I reckon they ALL sure do count Sophie, it is often the smallest gift that makes the biggest difference.
