29-Day Giving Challenge

I found this on a package when I was buying holiday candy.

The Legend of the Candy Cane: Sharing the sweetness of the meaning of Christmas.

Jesus Gentle Shepherd,
This cane of red and white
Proclaims the sweet love story
Born on Christmas night.

This cane, you see, when turned around
Begins your name of Love
And now becomes a symbol
Of peace proclaimed above.

The lively peppermint flavor
Is the regal gift of spice
The white is your purity
And the red your sacrifice.

And so this cane reminds us
Of just how much you care
And like your Christmas Gift
To us it's meant for all to share.

This is a special reminder of all the good things around the holidays. I especially remember making cookies, although this is fun year 'round! Thanks for sharing this wonderful legend.

Today a student came to me with a request for an extension for work missed. She did not have a valid excuse for her absences, but she was sincere in wanting to complete her work. I extended the time that she needed to complete her assignments.

Thank you, Astraa, for the welcome message. I love the cartoon drawing of the lady in her armchair with her cat and her hot drink. I tried to thank you earlier, but I had a problem with the computer I was on last week. -sparkie

I love your joy at receiving the 5 pennies. Most people wouldn't think of that as something to be excited about, but I am with you. A gift is a gift large or small. I think it makes our lives so much richer when we recognize all the gifts that com...
