Day Eighteen: I took C and the kids to the beach, since the little ones hadn't been to one before. Can we say excited? I took JJ on his first swim in the ocean and he loved it. He didn't want to leave. We took a lot of pictures and everyone got sand where no sand should ever go.

This past week has been super busy for me and Hubby. My friend is here, and we have been spending a lot of time with her and trying to give her a good time.



Day Fourteen: My friend and her kids came on Monday and I picked them up at the airport. I was in uniform and I made small talk with a woman in the elevator. We commiserated on the deplorable parking arrangements.

The reason we felt compelled to give to the guy from the Disabled Veteran's Association is that I am a disabled vet as well. Granted, I was not injured in some dramatic way, but rather through the slow and very painful disintegration of my spine's discs through years of arduous work.

Day Eleven- I gave a moment of thought to all who had been affected by the 9/11 tragedy. Then I went back to work. The world moves on, and so should we. All we can do is hope that we learn from the past, and make the right changes.
