Definitely a give... whatever the outcome, the intention was a BIG GIVE. Following your heart and instincts is rarely wrong, especially if you give it a bit of time, and consideration and still feel it so strongly.

i do think that calling the police and telling them about your "vision" was a give. i am impressed that you were willing to risk being dismissed. as with any give, what they do with it is their responsibility. perhaps it will help to consider poss...

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
I am a 68 yr old woman who unexpectedly received a beautiful blue purse from a total stranger at our local Whole Foods store, just because I commented that I loved her purse and wanted to know where she bought it.! I did not know about this group until a friend told me about it. I want to pass the blessing on.
What I'd most like to receive:
I would most like to receive the awareness that I had been able to bless and impact the receiver to the degree that I had been impacted by receiving my beautiful blue purse from Amy.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
Please see Why I'm choosing to give above
About me:
I am a 68 yr. old woman, married 38 yrs. The past 27 yrs I've been required by circumstances to be the financial provider for a family of 5, now reduced to 3, including a husband with serious health problems and a 37 yr old son with type 1 diabetes since childhood and bipolar disorder. It's been demanding and exhausting and discouraging, but my faith sustains me.

Out on a Limb?

I've lost track of which day this is of the 29 days, which suits me fine as I plan to just make this a permanent on-going way of life from now on. But here is where I'm going to go out on a limb, so to speak and tell about an experience I had that I'm going to count as a give. I wonder if anyone else will understand and/or agree as to whether it was actually a give or not: This morning I heard on TV about a murder in another part of the country. I forgot about it until later when I was brushing… Continue

Giving is Receiving

Today I gave encouragement to five different people, and it felt so good to be able to reach out and touch them in their own moment of need. Isn't that what it means to be human? The problem is that we get so busy and so caught up in our own lives and problems that there isn't time or energy left over to notice that all around us there are people who are hurting. Some of them are truly desperate and in need . Now we may not have the financial resources to help in a material way, but whatever our… Continue

It's Saturday evening, and I am just home from church. I asked the Lord to lead me to His choice to receive my bracelet, since my desire to give it away at church last Saturday hadn't worked out. When a young woman sat next to me, I felt she might be the one, and as the service progressed, I became more sure. She had beautiful eyes, but she had the look of someone who was in shock, and I kept having the impression that she had trust issues. At the end of the service (I had already taken the brac… Continue

29 Days- My Journeys

I think this is day 8 for me. Day 1 was an easy give: My husband and I went out for lunch to a favorite restaurant. Our waitress was noticeably prompt, efficient, helpful and courteous with us and others I noticed, and so I gave her a tip of almost 50% of the bill total along with a note that she was awesome, and thanked her for excellent service. Day 2 I sat next to a young girl in church, and noticed that she was wearing several bracelets on each wrist. I felt led to give IV her a bracelet I w… Continue

Hi Allesvenn ~ I had always known that I wanted to learn some type of hands on healing, but figured I would have to travel quite a ways to learn since I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere. The universe intervened and I was able to take the class when a Reiki master (teacher) from Ohio came to a town 12 miles from us!! About a year later he came back and I took level 2 where energy is sent long distance. It seems to work as well as in person, but I like doing in person best. Since then I have taken Therapeutic Touch, then this past March went to Arkansas and took a 3 day class on healing with hypnosis. I am an LPN and interested in all kinds of holistic healing. People seem to be more open all of the time to these healing modalities. Have a great rest of the weekend. ~ Joyce Kirby
