Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
5 months ago I was diagnosed with Fybromyalgia Syndrome. At this time I heard Cami's story. I thought it would be neat to do but put it on the back burner. Last night, I once again read her story in one of my magazines. I figured since I was changing my lifestyle to help improve myself and alleviate some of my symptoms from the fibro, I may as well have very positive thoughts and focus more on others than about the negative points of my syndrome.
What I'd most like to receive:
From this I hope that I can focus more on making others smile then thinking about the what ifs with my syndrome.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
the magazine body and soul
About me:
I am a 26 year old speech language pathologist who was recently married.

I think I decided this would be day 11....a secret santa gift and a party

Today I took in a secret santa gift for one of the teacher's at work. A simple candle set and candle warmer but I am sure it will be nice to smell pumpkin pie! I also had a small party for another student who graduated from therapy today. We had candy, played games, and he even got a gift :). At the end he said thank you and started to cry!

stopped counting at day 8 but I know there have been a lot of days since!!

Since the time has flown by and I didn't have a chance to type down each gift I will type what I remember and tomorrow will be day 10. No big deal, the more gift days, the better.

Some of my gives were as follows;
More money in a salvation army bucket.
A card to my mom saying I loved her and couldn't wait to see her at Christmas.
A plane ticket to get home to see my family for Christmas this year.
Cleaning the living room for my husband's sanity.
Took mother-in-law shopping and taught her how t… Continue

day 9 in a different state

Today after working with the kids I had to drive 4 hours to Chicago for a work training. I wasn't too sure what my gift today would be but well, it came to me while entering the mall 1 block away from my nice hotel. The dreaded salvation army lady with the bell was outside of Home Goods, yes you all know who I am talking about. The lady herself is not dreaded but after the 50th bell ringer it tends to get a bit overwhelming and well I am sure every now and then you, like me have just ignored and… Continue

Day 8

Today I gave 3 gifts. I brought all of our foods in our house that we could no longer eat to the school for the staff to take! I also made it freebie prize day for the kids I work with in the one school. They each were given a prize from the treasure chest..some of them were sooo happy. The third gift, we took about 30-40 lbs of meat (hamburgers and hotdogs) from our after wedding party to the nearby women and kid's shelter (this was my hubby's idea!!) .

Hi Allie, I have been studying and practicing yoga since 1989, so that is almost 20 years... It has been a wonderful path, with challenges and rewards. I know that I am a better person because of it.
You sound like a very loving and generous person.

This was right out my backdoor in Branson West, Missouri. I lived in the Ozark Mountains in Missouri very close to Branson. It is a beautiful place. The picture that I share with you today are some of the hills in fall just ourside of Branson.

Allie,
My husband took that picture, right out of my front door the first year I moved to the Ozarks. He really got lucky with the picture. It is one of my favorite. Sunsets can blazing here in the summe.
