Forgiveness in Four Acts/Act IV

Act IVTo Forgive: to abandon the debt “Forgiveness is an act of creation,” says Clarissa Pinkola Estes. We get to choose how best to forgive—in whole or in part, for now or forever or some time in between. There is a moving story from the life of Mahatma Gandhi. As the newly independent India was dividing it’s country to form the Islamic state of Pakistan, violence broke out and former neighbors were killing each other. Gandhi went into another fasting, refusing to take nourishment until the…See More

Forgiveness in Four Acts/Act III

Act IIITo Forget: to aver from memory To forget the past pain you enter into an active state of putting aside and allowing the emotional charge to die down, then die. “To Forget means to aver from memory, to refuse to dwell—in other words, to let go, to loosen one’s hold, particularly on memory. This kind of forgetting does not erase memory, it lays the emotion surrounding the memory to rest.” Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Women Who Run With the Wolves. At the core of every issue sits an…See More

Forgiveness in Four Acts/Act II

Forgiveness in Four Acts/Act IITo Forebear: to abstain from punishing There is an old saying that holding resentment is like swallowing poison and expecting the other person to die. This second stage in the forgiveness process enables us to gain control over our ‘hit back’ reflexes, to restore our integrity and to revive our spirit. The importance in practicing forbearance is in how we develop control of our own thoughts and tendencies. When we are truly hurt by another, or operating under the…See More

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
First, because Cami invited me and she knows her stuff; to shift energy in my life.
Now, Giving has become a way of life, like being kinder to myself, and welcoming each new day with full consciousness.
What I'd most like to receive:
Internal permission to step outside my self-imposed limitations, release my brakes, be, do and give more.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
Cami and Mbali
About me:
Cami and I are developing a meditation curriculum to help the 29 Gifts Community raise its collective vibration. The Telecourses are now in full swing!

I began teaching meditation and energy healing over 25 years ago, after graduation from Psychic Horizons, seminary for Church of Natural Grace, in San Francisco, where I taught for 17 years.
I've maintained a private practice in Massage Therapy and rehabilitative bodywork since 1990. Over the years, my energy work and bodywork have gradually become a unified 'body of work' and an expression of my commitment to wellness and whole self healing.
My practice enables me to mentor in energy work, meditation and healing principles--empowering others to embrace and direct their lives from a spiritual perspective. I also provide in-depth energy readings and healings.
As a minister, I perform weddings and a wide variety of rituals for all life transitions. In 2004, I published "Practically Perfect Wedding and Commitment Ceremonies" to help couples and officiants produce meaningful and personal wedding ceremonies.

On a personal note, I'm late boomer, a sprung chicken, a personal growth junkie, a cultivator of heaven and earth. I stopped trying to grow up or grow old, and am just growing.
I am never bored and do not understand how some folks make an occupation of it. Seldom really down or angry for the same reason. Hey, I'm busy in here, and continually reaching inside for more insight, humor, bs, courage and poetry. I love friends, conversation, language and it's ironic origins, good stories, ocean, birds, opera, science, physics and what used to be known as metaphysics but now is so close to physics the scientists are embarrassed to not be a part of it.

Rememberance

I always think of my parents on Memorial Day. Not because they died in World War II (I am not that old) but because they lived to tell about their experiences and carried emotional wounds to their respective

graves.

Dad was not yet 18 years old when he joined the Navy. He was intent upon a career, following his dad and older brother. Grandad was a distinguished naval Commander. He was soon assigned to the North

Atlantic supply ship fleet that moved food and…

For all the writing I do, I am an infrequent blogger. Like Cami's husband, Mark, I mostly keep quiet about my giving experiences. Now they happen spontaneously and are not often recognized as "a give" until after I have given. Sometimes I catch myself in the act, and recognize, with gratitude, hey this is a give!

I am now trying to blog more frequently, in the spirit community, and for sharing ideas and inspiration.

I moved to a small town in Northern California about 7 months… Continue

Since I am working at and on home today, and not likely to interact with anyone else, todays gift will be to me and to this giving community. I wish to share a story with you, one that has and continues to inspire me.

Manuela introduced me to her husband, Bob, more than 5 years ago. I got to know him a little over dinner on a few occasions. Bob had led an long career as a talented designer and renowned engineer, then had been in active… Continue

Catching Up

I can't believe my 29 days are more than half gone. (am wondering if there's an analogy to the glass half empty, but since I feel more than half full, can't say) So much has happened to me, and in me and through me. Perhaps the most profound but subtle awareness is that I have begun to attract to myself things, experiences and comments or feedback from other people. While my attention was on giving to others, others 'snuck' into my camp and deposited little treasures, thank you cards with… Continue

I have just read your Forgiveness series and wish to thank you for the practical wisdom that, I believe, each and everyone of us human beings can apply to our own lives. I made a copy for a friend of mine who is deeply in need of the healing process of forgiveness. I hope you don't mind. Many thanks and blessings!

Do forgive me my senior moments! Sometimes comments are not attached to subjects or specific postings that I have made, and I am a struggling neophyte in a world of online wizards. The classes--Meditation for Creative Spirit, Meditation for Entrepreneurial Spirit and Meditation for Health and Healing--were created as three-part telecourses. We held conference call classes, then Cami posted the recordings on the site for those attending the classes. We are talking about refining our approach and offering classes again. It may take a while. We are not yet grown up enough for webinar, but someday...
For more information, you might want to check out the Giving Philosophy articles (Forum) to get some idea of our perspective in these classes.
Thanks for your inquiry and your patience through this long winded response!
