Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
Because my mom taught me that the best way to solve your own problems is to help someone else.
What I'd most like to receive:
May as well WISH BIG...
* RECEIVED Sept 08 -- A publishing deal for the 29 Gifts book, which is gonna rock!
* A baby.
* A good screenwriter, producer and director to help make the 29 Gifts feature film... and some big money to make it happen.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
A South African medicine woman, Mbali Creazzo, gave me a prescription to do it and then I created this site.
About me:
I'm a writer, artist and healer who lives in Los Angeles, California. I worked in advertising for "the big boys" for a long time, helping companies who already have millions of dollars make millions more. After about 15 years of focusing on making money for these giants, I found myself feeling empty, unfulfilled and struggling with a serious health condition (Multiple Sclerosis) that required I stop living my over-driven lifestyle. Now my focus is on helping build companies and community projects that are spiritually-centered and wildly profitable on all levels. I created the 29-Day Giving Challenge to encourage my friends, family, clients and hopefully many strangers to give back to our communities--and as a way to help me heal.

A quick summary to wrap up cycle 18 and beginning cycle 19

Day 21 (x18): I cuddled with my husband for fifteen minutes. It's remarkable that this was the most concentrated time we've spent together is quite a while. We're both so busy. His voice over career is booming so he's gone all the time. And then there's my life with the 29 Gifts book. I spend about 2 hours a day (the max I can manage to work in a day) doing press or giving to the challenge in other ways and then I'm wiped out and need to lay down and rest. I'm usually asleep before Mark gets hom… Continue

Day 20 (x18): Letting myself be held

Keeping with my theme to give to my husband each day for the rest of this cycle, I allowed him to let me cry in his arms for a long time when I found out that my grandmother is sick with congestive heart failure. It is 3:29 am here in Hollywood right now and I have been bawling like a baby since about 7 pm.

Mark and I have been so physically distant from one another for so long now -- several months, mostly since the final push on writing the 29 Gifts book and all of the publicity that is in th… Continue

Day 19 (X18): Love Bar

Mark and I had a rough and somewhat hostile therapy session today, but I kept to my commitment to give a gift a day to him through the rest of this cycle. Today's gift -- a Love Bar -- a raw chocolate bar. Being married is hard.

Cami, your courage is inspiring; it's been such a blessing to me. The courage to put all of yourself out there in your book and courage to follow thru with Mbali's 29 Gifts prescription makes you a gift to so many of us. Like you I have neurological health challenges and your book came into my life at exactly the perfect moment as my husband will be overseas all next year. Thank you for just being you and taking me along for the ride. I truly appreciate it.

Hi Cami!
Just finished your very inpriring book, and am on my 9th day of giving. Your interview on the Today Show caught my attention as I also have MS. There have been a lot of ups and downs over the past 22 years, but Im doing ok, and raised two kids in the process.
I recently read a book called Healing Multipl Sclerosis by Ann Boroch. Your already doing many of the things she discusses, but I think you might find it helpful. The author is a Naturopath and has a practice in the LA area. Just wanted to pass on this recommendation. Thanks again for sharing such a grat idea with all of us. Debby
