Supplies for Womens Shelter

Today I received my last batch of shampoos, lotions, soaps, etc from a friend who put out a collection box in her office. I am bringing them to a women and childrens shelter. I cannot believe I have filled 4 medium size boxes. A women who I don't even know offered to drop everything off to me! I also made a donation of $50 to this same friend because she is doing the 3 day walk for Breast Cancer. It felt like alot of money to give right now but I felt that I needed to. Benefit for Haiti

Tonight I attended a benefit concert for Haiti. I rounded up 15 members of my volunteer group and we helped with set up, selling T- shirts and taking donations. The place was sold out!! :) It was an awesome experience. I feel the best when I am volunteering and giving of myself.
Restarting Round 2!! Days 1 and 2

I am feeling a little lost and I believe I needed to officially start this round again. Yesterday I set up a volunteer committment for my volunteer group -- we will be unpacking and sorting donations for ARC/Value Village store in 2 weeks. There will be 10 of us.
Also I put out a box a work to collect travel size shampoo for a homeless shelter in Minneapolis. My goal is 100.
Today I bought 10-15 travel shampoos at a "unique" thrift store for about $2.50. :) What a deal! I'll add… Continue

Day 10 - A Tip and My son is learning to give

Today I doubled my tip to my hair colorist. I have been seeing her for 27 years. Oh my!
Also, my son told me that he was studying pollution in science today and his teacher told them to pick up 3 pieces of litter tonight - for extra credit. He walks home from school and he decided to pick up all the litter he could carry on his 1 mile walk. He had about 14 cans, bottles and cups. He called me at work when he got home. He told me what the teacher said and that he could not stop at 3… Continue
