GREAT BOOK GIVEAWAY: Life Safari by John P. Strelecky - UPDATE - all entrants will win!

I am so attracted to books this one. I love stories about people following what most consider to be wild and crazy dreams. It sounds like a perfect book to read and pass on, though I have a sneaky su…

Man, one of those days. Everyone else has been asleep for hours! Short and sweet tonight. Today I gave my time by taking over some work a friend couldn't handle, even though I thought I absolutely had no energy left to do it. But, here I am - work d…

This is wonderful Chandra! One of the amazing things for me has been how this challenge has "opened" my eyes to the opportunities for giving that are out there! Your post is a great example of that!

This is an amazing way to start your challenge! I'm sure it made her day. Many hostess' and greeters don't get the credit they deserve. My 9-yr old daughter pointed this out to me just last week. She made a point to approach the greeter at our local…

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
Over time I have closed myself off from others as a way to avoid pain. I have known this was not a positive thing and in looking back I can see the physical difficulties I now suffer have been by my own hand. After reading the book I can see that deliberate giving will open my heart and reverse this pattern of self abuse.
What I'd most like to receive:
I am open to receive all the wonderful, exciting things the Universe has to offer me. A healthy mind and body will surely be two of them.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
I was killing time at an airport when it jumped out at me from the "Great Gifts under $20" shelf. I bought it on the spot.
About me:
My name is Chandra, I'm 42 and live in Springfield, VA, with my husband, Rob, and our two children, Valerie (7) and Declan (5). I love to read "self-help" books and absolutely believe in the Law of Attraction. I see the Law throughout the book! I love the book because while I know "like attracts like" as Abraham (as channeled by Esther Hicks) teaches, I haven't found a great way to actually create what it is I want. This book does that! Thank you Cami - I only wish you didn't have to suffer from MS to have come to this place where you are able to help us all create a better life for ourselves and others.

Chandra's Day 2

Man, one of those days. Everyone else has been asleep for hours! Short and sweet tonight. Today I gave my time by taking over some work a friend couldn't handle, even though I thought I absolutely had no energy left to do it. But, here I am - work done and a tiny bit of energy left to write this short blog. Must...sleep...now........ ;-)

Chandra's Day 1

I have been debating when my first day would be. I guess I wanted to start off my first 29 days with a "bang". Today, however, the opportunity just came to me. I was eating lunch with my daughter and we were sitting right behind the hostess station. The hostess was about 21 and greeted everyone so warmly and happily that I really noticed her. (I must admit I generally don't pay much attention to the hostess.) Every so often, maybe only 2 or 3 times during the hour we were there, she had a minute… Continue

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

Mary

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.
