29 Gifts isn't necessarily about spending money. Your gift could be a conscious smile or opening the door for someone or a quick thank you note or specifically setting time aside to spend with your husband. I hope you get back into the swing of thin…

I understand your sentiment. It's one thing to deal with one's body as a child then as a teen and then as a young adult. But this last stage of change has thrown me for another loop. It's not like I didn't see it coming. After all, change is the onl…

Carla, love, you are right about letting go of your uneasiness. I can tell how much you care about your Lover and that's why you have every right to give him the gift of your feelings. From what I can tell, this kind of thing has been building for a…

I'm a librarian in an academic special collection, so now I'm curious about your profession. May I ask what you do? We may have some things in common.

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
I've reduced my Stuff by 1/2 already, but I know I can do more. Besides, next month is my birthday and this will be a good project to remind me how to give to others instead of expecting so much for myself. That will be the best gift.
What I'd most like to receive:
Peace and contentment
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
Either Coolpeople.org or LifeHacker.org. I can't remember which.
About me:
I am a Librarian, who believes in Intellectual Freedom, connecting to people and Love as a unifying force.
I am a Storyteller, who Knows the the great power of words, the motivation of a spectacularly broken heart, and the healing of a hot cuppa tea.
I am a Warrior for tolerance and peace, personal politics (because it is all personal and all political), and a world which can be both green and wired for the Good of All.

Holiday lette 2009

Dear friends & family,
I hope the last year has been mostly full of calm & joy for you all. 2009 was busy & eventful with only a touch of sorrow, but mostly full of lessons in balance & living in the moment.

My & David’s relationship has progressed at a clip. Although I wouldn’t say it was “love at first sight”, there has been a sense of intuitive Rightness. We were officially engaged in July and will be married on Oct.8, 2010. This past November, we combined households and… Continue

The Last Bit of Receiving

Oct. 22nd: I was grateful for an understanding company, who permitted me to take off an hour early, so I could get the Visitation for Peter early & stay the whole time. In addition to that convenience, St. Henry's Catholic Church had magnificently clear directions on their website.
I was additionally grateful for my love's arrival, after he got off work. He hugged Krys, as if she was his sister and kept me & the rest of the Support Staff (me & 2 of Donna's best friends-Laura &… Continue

Haircut

Oct. 21st: I got an anime girl haircut last night, in preparation for my Halloween costume. It will definitely take getting used to, but I like it. I want it a darker colour too, I was hesitant about doing anything permanent. Instead of pushing a sale, David's Penny suggested I go to a Sally's or Walg… Continue

Cocktails & Nails

Oct. 20th: My boss & our coordinator was nice enough to let me leave a whole hour early yesterday. When I got home, Chelsea picked me up & off we sped to Magnolia Spa for a purely girly evening, "Cocktails & Nails". Emily met us there and the three of us were able to indulge in drinks and petit pedicures all before 7 p.m. It was lovely. Emily has good ideas!

little things you don't normally think about

Oct. 19th: I began thinking about gratitudes before I began this project. For e.g., did you know that there is gelatin in my face soap, Noxema? Gelatin is an excellent source of calcium & good for your skin, but as someone who won't eat it, I feel humble for the animals, who gave up their lives to clean my skin, as well as grateful to the companies, who believe in not wasting an animal's resources by disposing pretty useful products in the trash, after their muscles have been turned i… Continue

Hi Christi! Thank you or your comments and you are so right. This is not the first time this has happened. As I said in my blog my boyfriend is wonderful, he is so talented and creative. I love him very much. Unfortunately it does make me sad that he is sort of a selfish person. You are also correct in saying I need to change my own feelings. I can not control what he says or does, the only person I can control is myself. Need to work on that!! Hope you have a nice day, and also I hope you are in good health!

Okay. As for me, I take notice of the distinction between being a naturl giver and having the intention to give a gift to someone each day. There's something extra special about that for me.
