Why I'm choosing to give:
Bringing my conscious attention to the process of giving will enhance my connection to life, to others and to my place in the world.
What I'd most like to receive:
Whatever is available and comes my way. I just want to feel open and receptive - and to trust the Universe with what comes to me.

About me:
I live in Tallahassee, Florida.

I'm a mom - I have three daughters (Molly, Anna and Susan) and I also raised my two older step-children. I've been married for 23 years and Joe is my very best friend.

I am an artist - I paint, draw, collage and sculpt. I am a writer. Two of my short stories have been published in journals and I hope to keep writing.

For 25 years I have been a member of Al-Anon Family Groups and it has made me a grateful person. I love working the 12 Steps and helping others do the same.

Life is all about the journey.

Hi Cindy! Thanks for welcoming me to this site. I am also grateful for the 12 step program. I have totally surrendered my life to God and I thank him everyday for my Breast cancer and my sobriety. I know God has a plan for my life and look forward to his journey! I know it is what we can do for someone else today not ourselves!

Cindy...thank you for your welcome. This all so new to me, not being a very "teckie" person, but I am looking forward to the journey.

Thanks for the wishes. Time is just something that is relevant. It seems just the other day we got married. :-) Happy Thanksgiving.

Round 7, Day 24

Today I gave some time and attention to my daughter - and I helped her clean out her closet. We unpacked boxes, and bags and put away clothes and organized her books, CDs and memorabilia. She recently had to move back home and all of these boxes had filled her closet up so she had only an inch or two for clothes.

In about two hours we had done so much, gotten her organized and I could tell she felt all moved in and settled. It was a give that gave twice (or even three times) because I gave of m… Continue

Round 7, Day 23

This was a great give!! I was at the Post Office and stood in line for about 30 minutes. When I got to the window the Postal Clerk put her sign up "CLOSED" ... she waited on me but that was it! There were about 20 people in line.

I got my stamps and went to put them on the invites and realized I had an extra book -- so, I went down the line and gave away 20 stamps!! Four people got to get out of line!!

I didn't want any money - and I was glad to save them some time!

Fun stuff!

Round 7, Day 22

Today my give was simple, but one that I'm very happy about.

I took the time to sit down with my husband and explain a problem that my daughter is having with communication and that has been growing into a resentment and a change in their relationship. It's not easy to have these kinds of talks, but it seemed important and the timing seemed right.

I try not to manage the relationships between my husband and my children, but this seemed that it just needed focused attention from parents.

Then… Continue

Round 7, Day 21

My give for Saturday, my 21st day of Round 7, was breakfast for my daughter and her boyfriend before I drove home. It was really nice to sit and discuss the art show, and then just visit with them as our lives began the return to normal... I'm so moved by the beauty and dept of human relationships and I'm so grateful to have the chance to see my kids grow up and become the adults they will be for their whole lives.

When I got home I made a casserole to take to the homeless shelter here. I do th… Continue

Round 7, Day 20

Yesterday was quite a day - I spent it with my daughter getting ready for her art show. It was a WONDERFUL show, filled with dynamic art pieces from the seniors in her BFA program. I loved meeting the students and the teachers, and seeing all these friends come and support the young artists! There was music, refreshments and a wonderful energy.

I gave of my time and money (new black sweater and sandals for her) and I took pictures during the first hour and a half so that she could be free to ta… Continue
