Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
Bringing my conscious attention to the process of giving will enhance my connection to life, to others and to my place in the world.
What I'd most like to receive:
Whatever is available and comes my way. I just want to feel open and receptive - and to trust the Universe with what comes to me.

About me:
I live in Tallahassee, Florida.

I'm a mom - I have three daughters (Molly, Anna and Susan) and I also raised my two older step-children. I've been married for 23 years and Joe is my very best friend.

I am an artist - I paint, draw, collage and sculpt. I am a writer. Two of my short stories have been published in journals and I hope to keep writing.

For 25 years I have been a member of Al-Anon Family Groups and it has made me a grateful person. I love working the 12 Steps and helping others do the same.

Life is all about the journey.

Thank you for the welcome! I started Day One off by surprising a neighbor with a gift of some jewelry I made and some daisies picked in my yard. It was more fun for me than for her i think!

Round 7, Days 6, 7 & 8

This weekend is a big give.

I'm hosting two friends of mine for a relaxing, retreat-weekend. I've invited them to join me at a nearby beach. I am cooking their meals, and providing a quiet, beautiful place for them to read, unwind, walk on the beach and just be.

Of course, I will be doing it too so it's great for me as well.

But I've been so lucky to have had the chance to do this in my life, and it has helped me grow spiritually and feel emotionally and mentally refreshed. So I'm really grat… Continue

Round 7, Day 5

Today my give was totally fun for me!! I took my niece out for her birthday - she turned 11 years old on November 2!

Then we went to the bookstore and she got to pick out some paperbacks to take home, put on her bookshelf and read when she has the time!

It was a lot of fun - and one of the greatest, easiest gives ever!

Round 7, Day 4

Today was a great day. Simply gorgeous outside, and not a whole lot on my plate. Whew!

My give was making a healthy casserole and salad and taking it to our church for "Lunch Bunch." Many seniors come on Wednesdays to share a meal and most of them bring rolls or bread or cookies... so I like to take a hot meal and a nice salad. They don't eat a lot but I know they do like to have something substantial. And with most of them on fixed incomes it's nice that it's free.

We also had a talk from a w… Continue

Round 7, Day 3

Today I gave lots of seeds to the birds flying into and through my backyard. It's one of my favorite gives!

I also spent some time putting together a Writing Group Web Site, and this is a give I'm excited about -- it is a give and a receive. I am not worried about the outcome, but I am pleased with the work I have done.

I also gave time, attention and prayer to a friend whose husband had surgery this morning. Always a gratifying way to spend some time - prayer and meditation on behalf of anoth… Continue

Today I decided I would surprise my son when he got home from school with a fresh tray of rice krispie treats instead of the store bought ones. He told me that I was the best mom, and he is 17 so that is a treat for me.
