Why I'm choosing to give:
I have always had a giving nature. I feel most content when I can give some cheer to others. To me, giving is the best part of sharing the blessings I have to show my appreciation to my Creator for my life. It took me many years to realise that in giving it also meant receiving. I used to feel very uncomfortable when I was on the receiving end. What a wonderful wake up to realise receiving is also giving.
What I'd most like to receive:
Love, peace and happiness for all

About me:
I am blessed with wonderful children. On having to retire on a state pension they made one of my dreams come together. My dream? To live near the sea, close to my family and still be independent. Table View is a suburb of Cape Town. I am close to the beach, have all utilities , such as doctor, chemist shopping centre, in the are and my children
close by. My youngest son and his family have just recently immigrated to New Zealand.

END OF ROUND 14.

Days 18 – 29 1/11/09 – 12/11/09

I have had some very challenging rounds in the past but none as challenging as Giving to Self! My gratitude for the end of this round knows no bounds. I have learnt, though, the importance of caring for self.
In myself I have grown quite a bit, not in body size, rather in the wonder of being ME! With all the years of being wife, mother, care giver I somehow forgot that I too needed care, so another challenge met.
My Ginger plant ---well that is another story! I l… Continue

Days 9 – 17 Round 14

This has been quite an eventful week. Certainly none of which I would have chosen.
Friday : Unknown to me, this was to be the last quiet day for a week. After spending time tutoring my grandson, I spent the day taking care of my poor neglected garden. Just as well nature takes care of itself, as I don’t give my garden nearly enough attention. I sort of make up for it in spurts. My plants must know I love them so they forgive me and give of their best.
Saturday on going to check up on my friend a… Continue

Round 14 Days 2 - 8

Day 2
This giving to self is far more difficult than I imagined. Today I forgot to pray over my bowl of water, which meant I forgot to water my plant. As though that was not enough of a bad start I added a blog which was to totally blank. Must have been my day for escaping the world. To make up for it all I went to look for a point to ponder. This is what I found :- wise words from Thich Nhat Hanh (glad that’s not my name I can’t even pronounce it)
“When you plant a lettuce and it does not grow… Continue

I didn't watch the lastest video. I would also imagine that they would want the avalanche of mail to stop. Isn't it amazing what a group of kind caring people can do to boost a kid when he is so sick.

Today my gift was that I took my son and his girlfriend out for lunch and then took Matt to Costco to load up on food for his apartment. I was going shopping and thought he could use some food too. It was great to spend time with him.
