Woo whoo, we live only about 20 miles away from the epicenter of the Northern California earthquake yesterday. It was quite a ride - a jolt and rolling and jolt and more rolling. All is well at our house - and we didn't break so much as a jelly glass. The kids were startled during, but were excited afterward. We didn't have electricity until the middle of the night sometime. We were able to buy a new sofa for our family room because of my work bonus for the year. We had two chairs, ottomans, and a little table that I just put outside with :"Free" sign. After two minutes I think they are gone already!! Hurray for us, and hurray for their new homes!

Our seven year old daughter Molly had her annual appointment with her pediatric cardiologist yesterday, and with one small tweak to her medication only, came away with flying colours . . . he doesn't need to see her again until next year! Hurray.

December was such a tough month for me. I traveled from California to Missouri twice, once to see my sister, the second time to return for her funeral.



I've realized (as I've said before) - that blogging here makes all the difference.



Somehow, knowing I'm going to be writing about my day and gifts is what keeps me conscious of gift giving and makes all the difference.
