Why I'm choosing to give:
As a 27 year old breast cancer survivor, I would not be alive today without the generosity of friends, family and the network of amazing people I have met in the last three years. Life is a cycle of giving and receiving so I am simply doing my part :-)
What I'd most like to receive:
I am raising $30,000 to have surgery on my right arm to cure the lymphedema caused by my breast cancer surgery in 2005. 22 lymph nodes were removed (because of the two tumors in my breast and axillary lymph nodes) and now my right arm is swollen to the point of disability without weekly physical therapy, compression wraps and acupuncture. Additionally, my surgery is not commonly known about and I would like to spread the word to the other thousands of lympedema patients that there is a cure so when their doctors say, "This is for life" they can say "No Way!!!”

Hi Elysia!

Sorry for the delay in accepting you as a friend, but the day you sent it to me, I was out having female surgery. It's taken me until now to become "me" again with the surgery, holidays, getting very sick during the holidays and now full time back to work. I'm so glad your surgery went so well and hope that you are on the road to complete recovery!

Hello- I thought this was nice for everyone regardless of religion or beliefs. Have a peaceful, beautiful day of the spirit.

A holiday affirmation:

I embrace the holiday season with joy and an open heart. I look at this time of year through the eyes of a child full of excitement. I gift others with kindness and a sincere smile. I feel at peace and view my life as the miracle that it is.
