29 Gifts, Day... Um...

I stopped blogging, so I stopped counting, but today wins the prize for the fastest gift turn around.

I was in the check out line at Trader Joe's tonight while the clerks were trading places at the check stand. The incoming checker brought a drawer full of cash and set it down on the counter in front of me while she picked up some bags to bag up my food.

I said, "Oh you can go ahead and drop the cash in there while you are at it. I wouldn't mind."

She said, "I would, but then I'd have to put… Continue

"29 Gifts Challenge, Please Hold..."

Although my practice of giving and participating in the challenge continues, my blogging about it is on hold for the moment.

Over the next couple of weeks I am up against a deadline with two important reports to complete, so all other writing needs to take a backseat to that.

More fun to come once this is a wrap.

Happy Holidays everyone!

A Clear Path

29 Gifts In 29 Days: Days 11 & 12

Gah! The days are just running past me!

The gifting theme of the past several days has been about re-connecting. I've been exchanging long e-mails and visiting with old childhood friends the past few days. So my gifts have been about listening, sharing and being open.

Honestly, the longer I am doing this challenge the more aware I am that I can't give fast enough or often enough before the Universe tosses something back at me to receive that feels… Continue

29 Gifts In 29 Days: Days 9 & 10

The days are startin' to blur over here, but I didn't want another one to go by without writing.

Let's see...

The gifts I've given in the past two days combined are:

I ordered groceries online for my mom and brought her some "Via" instant coffee samples from Starbucks because she wanted to try some.

I cleaned off all the data from my two old cell phones in preparation to give to Cell Phones For Soldiers, but they haven't left the house yet.

I cle… Continue

Welcome to 29 Gifts! I'm so glad you decided to join us.

Enjoy your 29 Days and don't forget to share some stories to help inspire others. If you need help posting in your Personal Giving Blog, follow these directions.

Help Us Grow: Please help spread the word. We're striving to reach our goal of 29,000 committed givers, and you can help: Send this Invitation to friends, write about the challenge and include a badge or our video on your website, blog, facebook, or myspace page.

The book 29 Gifts: How a Month of Giving Can Change Your Life - authored by 29 Gifts founder Cami Walker is now in stores. You can also buy through Amazon.

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.
