Being a Mom (Day 19 Round 3)

I was thinking about all I do "Being a Mom", is it just part of the responsibilities and blessings of "Being a Mom" or is a lot that I do really gifts too, to my children? How do you distinguish the difference between a gift and a normal responsibility? I don't know, maybe it doesn't really matter, just that what I do for my children is done with love and compassion and AWARENESS, which is what I have learned most from 29 gifts.

Being Friendly (Day 18 Round 3)

I work on the first floor of a building. The building is not a high rise or anything, just three floors but fairly spread out in area. I realized sometimes we all just get stuck in our own work areas, people on the first floor really only talk to other coworkers on the first floor and the same for the other floors. Baking Nightmares (Day 17 Round 3)

This weekend, I have been baking for my "compassionate cakes" project, I wrote about this in a recent blog and I wanted to bake a cake for my dear husband and I had a request for something "pumpkin" from my daughter. So, I go to work baking....1st was pumpkin muffins for my daughter, I put the flour, sugar, baking soda, eggs, pumpkin, etc... in a large bowl. Two Gives in One! (Day 17 Round 3)

At our local coffee shop, they sell things made by local artists- jewelry, handmade cards, beautiful photography, etc...I bought 5 handmade cards- 2 with a fall theme, 1 with a thanksgiving theme, and 2 with a winter/Christmas theme. I am writing a personal note and mailing them to dear friends who may need a pick me up! It is a wonderful two give in one, by supporting our local artists in the community and sending a wonderful homemade card to brighten a day.

Slow and Deliberate (Day 16 Round 3)

I purposely and deliberately slowed my pace today at work. My pace of moving, breathing, talking.....the day was great and so different. I found myself having more meaningful conversations with colleagues. One colleague obviously needed to talk and I was able to focus and really listen and respond, instead of thinking what i SHOULD be doing at that moment.
