Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
I believe strongly in the message " Be the change you wish to see in the world" (Ghandi) There is nothing quite like giving of yourself in any way..small or large..and practicing random acts of kindness ROCKS!
What I'd most like to receive:
What I want most to receive is a sense of camaraderie and unity that comes when we treat each other as spiritual beings having a human experience instead of the other way around. The holidays are a very difficult time for me..I have lost my immediate family to various illnesses, including my parents..it will be a year for my dad and two years for my mom. I am blessed with an amazing daughter and want to continue to show her the importance of living a purposeful life and being thankful for what we DO have.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
The Q Kindness Cafe on Facebook..how incredible are they? :-)
About me:
Former hospice RN, current Reiki Master. Owner and president of SpiritmovesmeReiki, Inc. Avid reader, occasional blogger, determined activist..Ambassador for Made By Survivors..passionate abolitionist! Proud mom of one amazing kid..we make each other laugh every day ;-)

Day 19, 20 and 21

Wow this challenge is flying by! I have already adopted a different mindset in so many ways...and becoming more mindful of the little things that can make a difference. Over the last few days my biggest accomplishments in giving were focused on helping my best friend who has been having a tough time realizing where he is in his life and where he is going..ironically, receiving the card I sent him as part of the Challenge really touched him and helped him see things in a different light. Happy Wednesday, Gang!

Day 11
Unfortunately, my daughter who is 13 is just getting the really crappy part of becoming a "woman" and had to be picked up from school early in the day. I wasn't sure what my gft would be today, since I was home with her, but I did manage to pick up my friends kids as promised and help them with some homework questions on the way to drop them off :-) I picked up some of my daughters favorite munchies that she craves on my way home, and we watched one of her favorite… Continue

Day 8 and 9 Hel-lo, Heather..are you listening???

Saturday Greetings, Friends!

Day 8
I was in the process of reading Cami's book, since trying to work on my own projects seemed improbable with my own "monkey brain" making it so difficult to focus, and I was hooked! I had a hard time putting it down, but answered the call from my friend who needed me to pick up her son from school because her appointment was running late..I normally don't pick up her kids on Fridays so I was grateful to have found a gift for the day :-) I also took my daughter… Continue

I actually used the card that you can print from this website, although I do make cards sometimes, as I am an artist and scrapbooker. I just love leaving little surprises!

Hello Heather!

Your idea sounds very interesting. Is there a way I can see the items? It would be woderful to include a handmade item in the Holiday Mail packages. I'd like to talk with you more about this.

I found this site by the Q Kindness Cafe too! Although I have not been there yet - I plan to go. I am about 30 minutes away. If you come to Mineesota, we will go there!! Peace, Cathy
