Day 4

Yesterday my gift was to offer forgiveness to a friend who had really hurt and angered me. It was the end of a busy day, I was exhausted, hadn't given my gift for the day and I was still upset about an incident the day before with a friend. It came to me that even though - or especially though - I didn't feel like it, offering unconditional forgiveness (and really giving this from my heart) would be a real gift - and a real stretch! So that's what I did. The response was amazing, and I today I…See More

Day 2 of the Challenge

Every Tuesday I send an extra sandwich to my child's school as a weekly contribution to a Peninsula-wide school feeding scheme for disadvantaged children. Today, my gift was to send two extra sandwiches instead of the usual one. It felt good to know that two hungry children would benefit, and I liked that the gift is totally anonymous. Living in South Africa, I am surrounded by a sea of need, and today I realised that I am already responding to that need, in small ways, on a daily basis –…See More

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
I read Cami's book, and feel inspired to incorporate giving and being of service as a daily spiritual practice, something more outwardly focused than the meditation and kriya that I currently do.
What I'd most like to receive:
I'd like to have a deeper experience of living in abundance, rather than scarcity - not just the theory!
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
Cami Walker's book
About me:
I'm a single mom, with 2 boys, a dog, 2 cats, a rabbit and a simple home in Cape Town. I work as an editor and a metaphysical healer and am blessed with good health, a loving home environment and enough money to get by. My challenge is holding all my responsibilities lightly and finding time for the things I love doing!

Thank you, Heather. Your comments created a new thread of thinking for me. Your are so right in acknowledging - if I understood you correctly - that many times the need for forgiveness - and even getting it right - caused by the blockages in our relationships which are the result of earlier difficulties - won't resolve the underlying issues. I had an experience with a friend a few days ago - which I blogged about here in "A gift that wasn't what it seemed" - please read my description and I'd like to know what you think. If you can't find it on my page I can send it to you - My friend had issues of getting past some big things in a first marriage - that have led her to believe that she is forever alone on her journey - when in fact, as she has come to realize after we talked, being alone is always a matter of choice - the Universe sends us what we really need / want and we may not even recognize it- but deep-seated issues of forgiveness that she wasn't really even aware of blocked her moving in the space she actually wanted to be in at a deep level. Peace and light to you, and thank you for being in touch
