- I am a 51 year old nurse who has been un-employed since July 2009.I am about to lose my house.I started doing some journaling a week ago in a book called 40 days and 40 nights.The book is getting you to focus on a positive goal in your life.I decided to incorporate the 29 Gifts Challenge into my other journaling experience.

Today was a lazy day and keeping with the theme of the month,I did crossword puzzles all day.I haven't done that in a long time and I had forgotten how much I love the simple pleasure of getting lost in the world of words.

Today I wrote a letter of appreciation to my 30 year old daughter,enclosed with her birthday card.Paige turns 30 on Feb. 11.Paige and I have always had a rocky relationship.She was my hard-headed child and we were always banging heads with one another.She is a real animal lover and needless to say while she was growing up,we ended up adopting numerous pets-a skunk,an opossum,lizards,rats,snakes,tarantulas,dogs,cats etc.She brought home my favorite pet,Layla,a Great Dane.I took…
