Women undergoing Chemo - FREE housecleaning...

I added this as a post too because I was not sure if everyone understood that this is a free service to all women in the US undergoing chemo -- thanks!

I love going to the salon. A bit more pricey than doing it yourself, but a nice treat. :)

Day - 1 Here I go

Day 1 -- I'll be out there looking for opportunities!

This morning I started off by finding my husband matching socks. I know - it does not sound like much but If you could see our sock drawer you would reconsider. Anyway -- I felt that this was not enough so I made lunch for my sons teacher and his interpreter - I am very grateful for their help.

What's strange is that it came back to me. I recieved a note that my son got 100% on his science test! Also my brother-in-law brought some delicious cannoli and a mug from Carlos Bakery --- you know The Cake Boss.

Go Phillies!!!

My son said, " I think you need a wig"...Day 1 round 2 - Self-Care begins...

I usually enjoy when the kids play with my hair. And as they get older... they do this less and often less. So when my 13 year old son grabbed a brush, looked at me and said, " I think you need a wig." I took it as a sign to stop cutting my own hair and start the Self Care Round. Then ran for the phone, dialed our local salon and got the first available appointment. I still intend on giving mindful gifts this round... but plan to include myself in the mix. (P.S. I also gave my daughter a beautif… Continue

Day 29 - Changed My Orbit

My thoughts and actions no longer revolve around me, me, me. I wake up each day, open my eyes and go out there looking for opportunities. And for that I am Thankful! Wishing you Peace, Happiness, Health and Laughter!

PS - Had 59 of my friends and family for dinner! Gave a younger family member with kids a rubbermaid container filled with clothes I had been putting away for her all year.

Day 28 - Should have seen this one coming...

My son woke us all up at 5:30 this morning and made us rummage under our beds, scan the tops of dusty bookshelves, dig through our closets and journey into the basement to gather all of the new and gently used toys for his school's toy drive. So we managed to collect many games that were never opened, dolls that were never played with and beanie babies tossed into a rubber maid container. By 6:00 am, we had filled 3 trash bags (1 industrial sized!!).

Yep, I should have seen it coming. It starte… Continue

Thanks for the welcome! I can see how you could find a lot of worthy recipients in the city. My first day was only mediocre. Maybe I started too late in the day, but I didn't feel worthy. Luckily, today is a second chance.

Yes, I do see the Statue of Liberty in your picture! I read your Day 14 and commented.I can totally relate!
San Antonio is nice- friendly smiley people (drive a bit slow but that can be a good thing!). A bit of culture shock for us these past 3 years. We have family here and back in NJ, which is good. We certainly are enjoying warm winters :)
Enjoy the day!

Hi Jane,
Congratulations on completing the Challenge- huge! What are 1 or 2 highlights? It's Day 2 for me, scouting out opportunities and doing my best to avoid shopping today!
BTW, I am from Edison/East Brunswick. I like your picture- is that the ocean I see...? That's what I miss the most about NJ- and of course the food!

Enjoy the day!

Thanks so much for writing me! It's nice to meet you! I read your blog - so funny - I'm originally from Philadelphia and one of my favourite things to do when I happen upon someone early in the morning still sleeping on the street is to go buy them breakfast and leave it for them to find when they wake up! I loved reading what you've done - thanks so much for posting it! I'm looking forward to the next 29 days!
