Long Beach Basket Brigade (A giving opportunity)

My friends began this campaign to feed needy families at Thanksgiving.

The info follows and a website is included if you are interested in helping:

The 4th Annual Long Beach Basket Brigade will be held on Saturday, November 22nd.

Since 2005 we have continued to increase our efforts to help those in need. This year our

As of right now, we have reached only 51% of our goal and we are one week away

DAY THREE, FOUR & FIVE!!

I thought I'd better get these down before I forget..

Day Three (Monday): Got together with several other women in business and helped brainstorm ideas on how they can become experts in their given fields. The ideas were also topics that can be used for blog posts.

Day Four: Passed out 29-Gifts cards to some friends at dinner.

Day Five: Picked up mom from the mechanic and gave her a ride home. Sent a friend a job posting list (she may be looking for a job). Picked up a pastry from Porto's for… Continue

DAY One, again!

Haven't posted in awhile. I was very conscious of my giving for many days, but I didn't post. I am starting my second cycle and will attempt to post regularly so that I can be conscious of what I am doing.

I started the cycle on Saturday Sept 20th and it was a blast! We got together with Cami and gave our roses to strangers on the street. (Some thought that we were trying to sell them...lol). We put a smile on so may people's faces and it just felt plain good!

Also on Saturday, my boyfriend ne… Continue

DAY SIX!

Day six is also part of Day Five. On Day Five I received an e-mail from a friend about a doggie who needed a home. (I get these pretty regularly). I work with woman who had a dog that passed away about a year ago. She had gotten several forwarded e-mails from me with potential doggie adoptions, but she wasn't ready at that point. I mentioned that someone was looking to find an adoptive home for a foster dog they had rescued from the pound (the dog was going to be put to sleep the next day...:-(… Continue

Jennifer,
Thanks for the tip on the photo. I added a photo of one of my favorite places; it's a place that always helps me BREATHE. Happy Monday to you.

Great to connect with you Jennifer. I like the photo at the top of your page. Where did you take it? And also, how did you get the photo up on the page like that?

Hi and welcome. I'm so glad you decided to join us. I'm excited to hear about what you give for day 1 tomorrow! That photo of the hotdog dogs is awesome, by the way.

Enjoy your 29 Days and don't forget to share some stories to help inspire others. If you need help posting in your Personal Giving Blog, follow the directions here.

PLEASE HELP US GROW: Our initial goal is to have 2,000 committed givers by the end of July. We now have almost 750 givers. Email the 29gifts.org link to friends and invite them to join us. Write about the challenge and include a challenge badge or video on your website, blog, facebook, or myspace page. Or forward the 29Gifts.org link to media contacts.

Good giving!

I didn't watch the lastest video. I would also imagine that they would want the avalanche of mail to stop. Isn't it amazing what a group of kind caring people can do to boost a kid when he is so sick.

This is an amazing way to start your challenge! I'm sure it made her day. Many hostess' and greeters don't get the credit they deserve. My 9-yr old daughter pointed this out to me just last week. She made a point to approach the greeter at our loc...

I love this idea! What a wonderful give. I am going to use this for christmas presents this year. I wanted to be able to give gifts with meaning instead of something that will sit on a shelf or get lost in a drawer. Thank you so much. Bless you, Patt
