I love this idea and I love the feeling of doing something wonderful for somebody, especially when they don't know who did it.

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
I was a teacher several years ago and suggested a "practice random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty" assignment and was so pleased at what 13-14 year olds did and could do. I have kept it up over the years and have taught my kids but I don't feel like I have done enough lately because of too much going on in my life.
What I'd most like to receive:
A job with benefits and much improved health
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
Women's World Magazine
About me:
I am a single mother of three, one just got married this past summer, one who is at a major university and one who is just started at a community college. I was an engineer at Ford but lost my job in a 50% downsizing of my old department in January. I am trying to help my kids through school and remortgage my house but I can't do either without a job. I also have had 3 emergency intestinal surgeries and 7 exstended hospital stays in the last four years. Now I have just found out that I may have to have neck surgery. I am basicallyl a happy person with a positive attitude and love to smile, laugh and love

Day 2

My physical therapist is 7 1/2 months pregnant and I made her an inexpensive but very warm fleece blanket for her to snuggle in after the birth, remember how cold you get, and to throw on the floor for the baby later. I didn't match her babies room, I found out, but it was her favorite colors and she got all weepy eyed. Of course I did to. It sure felt good.

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

Mary

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.
