I don't know what to title this post!

I'm feeling pulled in my emotions . . on one hand I haven't posted anything for a week. There were actually a few days in there when I didn't do a 'give', or if I did a 'give' I wasn't in the right mindspace for it to count . . . On the other hand, I feel that I would be more mindful and willing if I wasn't posting. It makes me feel like I 'have' to give . . that someone is watching me and I have to live up to certain standards. So. . . I'm going to take a posting break.I absolutely LOVE to…See More

Day 16

Today was the day that our family had our 'official' Xmas dinner (since tomorrow we are volunteering at "Christmas for Everyone"). I have been cooking and baking for 2 1/2 days and had loads of food. I visited 'minfulness mode' several times throughout the day. When I am by myself it is easy for me to stay connected to gratitude, when I am around many people it is not so easy for me to stay connected. So today, I consciously tried to stay connected even though I had to get all the food out,…See More

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
I want to be more mindful in my everyday life.
What I'd most like to receive:
Insight and mindfulness
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
Through reading Cami's Book
About me:
Almost 2 years ago I took a mindfulness meditation class at Kaiser Hospital. It was a great class and I really felt that I was doing ok at the being mindful. After a while I tended to slip in being mindful and it just didn't seem to be as accessible.
I saw Cami's book at a bookstore, I purchased it and its EXACTLY what I needed to really get into the mindfulness mode! In fact I have purchased several copies to give away as Christmas gifts!!
Do you agree to read and follow the 29Gifts Code of Conduct once you join our site?

Day 18

Posted on December 27, 2009 at 8:00am 1 Comment

Saturday was day 18 and up until I went to bed, I just wasn't in the best of moods. There were plenty of opportunities to give, and as hard as I tried to move to a place of giving, compassion, and gratefulness - I just wasn't able to do it. Finally, when I was in bed, my daughter came back from an evening in the City (S.F.). She has been having insomnia again and it's just not pretty. I stayed up with her and did a lot of praying (of course, I wouldn't tell my daughter I was praying - she's… Continue

Day 17

Posted on December 26, 2009 at 7:30pm 2 Comments

Yesterday was Christmas Day and my family and I were to volunteer at "Christmas for Everyone". Christmas for Everyone is put on by many, many volunteers to assure that people who do not have the means for a 'real' Christmas are able to have one. Bounce houses are there, people are able to get a free haircut, there are volunteers who play music (three 'stages' at once), lots and lots of free clothing, brand new gifts and toys, and of course, a traditional Christmas Dinner. My son and daughter… Continue
