29-Day Giving Challenge

Love + Gratitude = JOY!

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
I love to do acts of kindness! I'm pretty sure that I give things away ALMOST every day, but I want to be more conscious about it, especially on those days when I'm not feeling my best and need to purposely step outside of myself and reach out to others. I am now making the intention to do this, not just for 29 days, but for every day for the rest of my life!
What I'd most like to receive:
A connection to others who love doing acts of kindness, too!
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
I found a 29-Day card posted on the bulletin board at my local yoga studio.
About me:
I'm a 46-year-old mom and a joy healer who enjoys laughing, loving, and spreading kindnesses, blessings, and encouragement! I also love animals, angels, faeries, unicorns, teddy bears, chocolate, afternoon naps, coffee, reading, and yummy vegan goodies!

Day Infinity!

Posted on February 12, 2012 at 1:13pm 3 Comments

I've decided to start blogging my giving again, but I'm not going to pressure myself to blog every day or even to make sure that I give every day.  I did complete the entire giving challenge some time ago, but I found myself actually not enjoying my giving as much as I always had previously.  I think it was because feeling like I had to give made it more of a chore instead of something…

Days 21 through 29!!!

Posted on November 24, 2009 at 7:17pm 3 Comments

Again, my blog will be relatively brief because I need to get to bed. We're leaving tomorrow morning to visit family for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, it seems like the only time I have a chance to write anything is right before bedtime! I have continued giving daily, and today was my 29th day!!!! Yippee!!! It feels awesome!!! So, here's what I've been giving:

Day 21: I mailed the card and letter to my senior friend and made brownies for my son's robotics team (my husband is the… Continue

Oops! I guess I haven't blogged in awhile! :P

Day 17: Actually got the teddy bears for the Ft. Hood survivors to the post office! Yippee! :o) I also made another food bank donation at the grocery store.

Day 18: Volunteer day at the school. I also bought another candle (50% of the proceeds go the school).

Day 19: Gave the candle I bought to my stylist -- she loved it and was so thrilled! Gave myself time to read! :o)

Day 20: I wrote a letter to my… Continue

Day 16

Posted on November 11, 2009 at 7:00pm 3 Comments

Today has been a busy day but a quiet one on the giving front. I volunteered at my son's school, as usual, and did the usual things that I always do: smile, let people into traffic, click to give, etc. This afternoon, I emailed a letter to one of my friends who has been having a rough time of it lately (she's the one I sent a care package to last week). I also managed to box up the bears to send to the Ft. Hood survivors. I already had 3 new bears in my possession waiting to be given to… Continue

Day 15

Posted on November 10, 2009 at 7:08pm 4 Comments

Today was kind of a funky day for me, and I certainly wasn't at my personal best. I felt very insular today, kind of like being in my own little bubble even though I was amongst others. It was just an "off" day for me. I did manage two gifts, though. I sent a Christmas card to little Noah (the boy dying of cancer), and I renewed my membership to Good Bears of the World (one of my favorite charities). Speaking of bears, I also bought a box to ship some teddy bears to Ft. Hood. I love gifting… Continue
