Getting Started

I have created a plan to help me get started with this 29 day challenge, and I am excited to get going! I guess that feeling excited and anxious to go could be my "first gift"... to myself!

And now, let the challenge begin!

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
I love this idea of purposefully paying attention to how we treat others.
What I'd most like to receive:
A better insight into myself and how often I positively impact the day of others (of course, milk chocolate isn't so bad as a gift either!).
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
from Sassy at bloggedy blog blog
About me:
I have been happily married to the love of my life for 13 years, I try to be a good daughter and sister, I LOVE being an aunt, I read whenever I can, and I am constantly trying to improve my photography skills.

Is this the end?

I don't think so!!!! Paying attention for ways to give has become much more a part of my daily life because of this challenge. So, even though I will now be posting my last official updates for the challenge, giving is something I intend to keep on doing (and blogging about!). This challenge has impacted me greatly as I have become more aware of the power of one person to make someone else's day bright. Thanks for leading the way, Saucy! I would not have found this challenge without your blog.… Continue

Oct. 23 = Day #8 = A Thank You Lunch

As an elementary school librarian, things stay busy in my world. I am truly blessed to have a fabulous Assistant Librarian and some awesome volunteers to help keep things running smoothly (even when it seems that the "Lilliputians" might take over and tie us up!).

So… Continue

Oct. 22 = Day # 7 = "BOO!" You've been "SPOOKED!"

What's October without a little "BOO" or without being "SPOOKED"? This tradition started a few years ago with our friends The Ayles, and it has lived on even though they have moved far, far away!

A good "BOO" means delivering a plate of goodies to a friend who doesn't expect it. This gift is one that has to be paid forward because the recipient is challenged to "BOO" two other people in 5 days.

Oct. 21 = Day 6 = "Choose-Your-Gift"

Today I did a "choose-your-gift" for my sister-in-law. I put together two choices for her to choose from (is it mean that I knew it would be a hard choice for her?).

Choice # 1 = Super Scrapper (an assortment of scrapbook items)

Choice # 2 = God Bless America (patriotic… Continue

Kirsten,
Thanks for the encouragement on blogging. When I started this challenge, I had never blogged before. This is easy, it is all set up for you. I will probably never be a champion blogger. I went to your site. I loved it. Why to Oregon to rest. I am from there, and just might be moving back.

How exciting to get your medicine necklace! I keep looking at that as a give to myself as well. I send prayers your way for your family - I'm sure your support of them during their time of need is a perfect gift!
