Why I'm choosing to give:
Because in doing this, if I make one person smile, or help at least one person, or just make someone know that someone else cares, that will make it worth it. I want to make a difference in peoples lives. Domestic abuse is something that I went through and has touched my life deeply, so that is something that I focus on - helping others through the same situations. Giving was also something that my grandfather did before he passed away, so I want to continue doing what he did throughout his lifetime.
What I'd most like to receive:
To know inside that I did something good, just because I wanted to.

A decent paying job.

To be done with school.

A well-raised daughter, lol.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
From a person on a mommies group site.
About me:
My name is Kristi, and I love in Waxhaw, NC. I am a full time student, and am a single mom to an 18 month old baby girl. All I want to do is to make a difference, to make sure that my daughter grows up knowing we should give to others, that even a simple thing like a smile can make someones day.

Day 9 - Day 14

I am soo not good at blogging. I don't have a lot of time to get on the computer, so I am only on every few days.I just jot stuff down in my journal. So here goes, guys. Another long one, sorry!!

*Day 9*October 19th*Sunday

Today Madi is 19 months old. She was still sick when I took her to the neighborhood bonfire, so I am dealing with the repercussions today. She is just miserable. On a brighter note, she keeps taking her diaper off when it is dirty or wet, so this weekend we will try potty tr… Continue

Day 7, Day 8

**October 17 - Friday**

I actually decided to go to school on Friday thinking that Madi was better. But when we woke up that morning, Madison's sinusitis had gone from her head to her chest. So what did I do?? Shipped her off to daycare for a few hours. (Not very nice, I know!) and then went to school for a few hours. I could only get a late appt. at the pediatricians office, so I had to put it some time @ school. Helped an elderly lady move from place to place, did things for some of my classm… Continue

Day 4 - Day 6

**Day 4 - October 14; Day 5 - 10/15; Day 6 - 10/16**

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, I stayed home with Madison all day. Poor baby was so sick. I spent the days watching Noggin and the Backyardigans DVD over and over again ( I know all the songs by heart!!) and cuddling with Madi on the couch. I have to say, I miss doing that. Ever since she started walking, she's been Miss Independent, but when she's sick all she wants is for me to hold her. Since I was already home with a sick baby, I told… Continue

Day 3 - October 13

Monday I had to take Madison to the pediatrician. No a fun thing to do with a very sick little girl. But we got through it. Gave out some brochures there for my Mom's business. Then came my favorite part - I got to go to the Crisis Center. Just to take the partenting class. I learned a good bit, as I usually do, and I am starting to put what I learned into practice. The lesson was on teaching your kids to accept No for an answer. I had lunch with Bonnie, one of the people there that I am closest… Continue

Day 2 - October 12

Sunday didn't seem like I was really doing anything. My mom had to work so I watched my little brother, which is something I do alot anyway. Madison has been sick, so I have been trying to adhere to our usual routine while holding her constantly. We stayed home, used the day to clean most of the house. Went grocery shopping, was nice to a lady that was really rude, got Mikey to "make the yogurt match" (he mixed them all up) on the shelf, let him put all the things in the cart. Letting him get th… Continue
