Hi Cami, Your whole posted story parallels mine so much that there are tears running down my face. My sweet cat was Ikabod. He also had kidney failure. It was April of last year. I finally got up the gumption to get a new kitten, Daisy, in December.…

And thank you ... for posting some blogs for us. I know you'll continue to give. Don't feel obligated to post about each day (or even each week), but I sure would love to keep hearing from you once in a while ... or as often as you'd like to share w…

No no! The give is all in the intention. Your intention was that you gave up your own desires because you knew how happy it would make someone else to join them in what they wanted. That's not selfish at all. Far from it. The fact you really enjoyed…

who says that giving has to be a chore? just because you enjoyed yourself doesn't make this any less of a give to your friends. i say enjoy it - there will be more than enough times that giving is less enjoyable. Hugs, Dawn

Days 28 and 29!

Yesterday I took a friend out to dinner. Today I brought a load of garden debris to the dump for the local community garden where I have a plot.
I can't believe this first round is over. It doesn't feel like its over, so I guess it isn't really. I don't know if I'll continue to post, but I do know that I will continue to give at least that little extra. I haven't always been good about responding to all your wonderful comments and posts, but I have read and appreciated every one. You all have be… Continue

Day 27

My extra give for the day now seems selfish. At the time it sounded like a good give, and now its all I've got! Today, instead of going home to a project I was looking forward to working on, I spent time with a couple of acquaintances who wanted me to hang out with them. I ended up really enjoying the time, so it doesn't feel like a give at all.

Days 23, 24 and 25

For day 23 I hosted an Easter celebration for family who were on a brief lay-over from Kauai. For day 24 I took care of my friend's 6 year daughter all day because she had the day off school and her mom didn't. Today I was able to stop myself from being negative with my son after hearing from his teacher that his behavior has been terrible for a couple of weeks. Somehow I was able to be present and explain to him in a "kid" way exactly what changes I want to see by the end of the week. He actual… Continue

Day 22

I hiked up the (168) stairs to my friend's house again to retrieve and mail some things she forgot to bring with her on her trip. So tired today, I can't write another word!

So I see you are working on being still, and it just makes me think of this:
"Be still and know that I am here." ........a line from a song and from somewhere in the Bible; be still and feel God

I can see why being still would be difficult. I have the problem of trying to do too much (and in too little time).

Hi and welcome. I'm so glad you decided to join us.

Enjoy your 29 Days and don't forget to share some stories to help inspire others. If you need help posting in your Personal Giving Blog, follow these directions.

Help Us Grow: Please help spread the word. Send this Invitation to friends, write about the challenge and include a badge or our video on your website, blog, facebook, or myspace page.

Check out our CAUSE OF THE MONTH. For the months of February and March, our cause of the month is to help Mbali Creazzo, the mother of this movement, by supporting her effort to raise the funding necessary to allow her to go home to the country of her birth, South Africa. She'll be traveling with the Vukani Muwethu Choir, a humanitarian vocal group that raises funds to support efforts and organizations in South Africa, such as AIDS clinics and orphanages. Please take a moment to read more about Mbali and her trip.

Also PLAY GIFT TAG! Help support the 29Gifts Community and have some fun too by 'playing' with these beautiful and unique gift tags. It's the gift that multiplies – your support is a gift to the 29Day Giving Challenge, and a gift to those who receive them too! These funds go to help offset the costs of maintance and hosting for our website and community, making it possible for everyone to continue to revive the giving spirit in the world. Plus, it enters you in our contest for a $10 iTunes Card!

Happy giving!

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar, which helps you keep track of your gifts. And keep your eye out for weekly Giveaways and Raffles!
