day 3 (I started over)

Today I paid the person who cleans our house an extra $25 dollars. We are doing a construction project and there was dust everywhere! What a difference it makes to have the house clean, even if it doesn't last long.
A major way I am giving right now - and this is ongoing into the indefinite future - is that my partner Tom and I have invited his elderly father to live with us. We are remodeling our back porch into an additional bedroom and bathroom just for him. Of course, we benefit too, because… Continue

aacting on the impulse to give

Today I noticed that I often have the impulse to give, but then I talk myself out of it. For example, I was going to send someone a copy of a book that I found inspiring and then I told myself, "What if they don't like it, or what if they already have it, or what if they think it's stupid?" So, I din't send the gift.
Then, there are the times when I am reading the discussions on this site and I am inspired by a giving opportunity, but I tell myself, "No, I want to give in a more personal way, no… Continue

getting off to a slow start

well, I've been a member since May 13 and have really only given in an intentional way on the first day. Today, I intended to buy flowers for someone, but I didn't. Now, I am going to count the things I have not intentionally given.
I gave a client an extra long session today at no extra charge. I unloaded the dishwasher. I fed my dog and took him to work with me today. I sent a client a very appreciative e-mail congratulating her on her success. I moved some boxes so my partner wouldn't have to… Continue

I've been trying to find other folks, like ourselves, who live in the East Bay and might want to have a 29-Day Giving Challenge meetup. The search engine doesn't do a very good job though of finding people who live in the same location.

Hi Laura, Thanks! You can just go to "my page", and on the right where it shows "my settings" you can customize your blog page with the existing templates, and you can change colors. I wish I could take credit for the pretty page, but most of the work was done ; ) And thanks! I am enjoying your blogs!

Today, I donated $25.00 to Compassion Without Borders (cwob.org). The donation will cover the cost of spaying one animal in an impoverished town in Mexico. Spaying just one dog and one cat prevents 67,000 puppies and 420,000 kittens from being born over the next 7 years!
