- Why I'm choosing to give:
- My restaurant is The Q Kindness Cafe in St. Paul, MN. Our mission is to connect and collaborate with the community to create more kindness. This 29 day challenge to give is a great idea that I will bring to my community. We wrote a proclamation, signed by the Mayor for the first week of every month to be Kindness Week and it will be a great kick-off for people to start your challenge. When we give we create an abundant mind-set. When we give, we create a ripple effect that is an inspiration to ourselves and others. When we help someone else up the ladder, we can't help but go up it ourselves.
- What I'd most like to receive:
- I'd like to surrounded with more love, kindness and gratitude in my life with family, friends, co-workers and community. Imagine a place where kindness is everywhere. I want to help create such a place.

- About me:
- I was born and raised in Minnesota but did most of my growing up in college at NDSU. When my parents divorced when I was 15, I became rebellious and fearless. It wasn't until I'd hit bottom during my college years that I started to seek out some others for help. By reaching out to others for help, I realize now that I was GIVING someone an opportunity to share their wisdom. When my sister Paula died in a car crash in 1990, she GAVE of her organs so that others could live. This simple act of kindness gave us much hope throughout the years. Paula also gave our family a reason to become closer and kinder to others because we now knew how fragile life could be. Fast forward to today and life is all about giving and kindness with The Q Kindness Cafe that is owned by my husband and I. We are on a mission to make St. Paul the kindest city in the world one person at a time.
