Days 28 and on...

Wow, I have not posted for over a week - today is Round 2 Day 7! However, I can tell you that it's been a week of lots and lots of gives - hand-blown paperweights for a friend's aquarium, books, washer and dryer to another friend who moved into a new place that didn't have a w/d (and we certainly don't need two at my son's!), and more than I can even remember.

Day 27

Getting everything in place for a big give-way this weekend - got shelves lined up in my old living room and boxes of stuff to put on them. I know that means that I haven't specifically given anything away today but I'll make up for it in a couple of days. Well, maybe we can count all the towels and sheets I took over to my son's house and put in his linen closet. Does that count? A friend just sent me this video that's posted on youtube - on the day I'm moving because I've "lost my house," this young man's inspiration has touched me. I hope it does you as well - he has a powerful message of hope.

Days 24-26

The last three days have been full of giving away - sets of shelves, new Tupperware left over from my Tupperware-selling days, rug cleaner, dresser, etc. But the most impactful thing that has happened has been the gifts that have been given to me - friends who came from near and far to help me move, and even people that I never met before who came to help, friends who came to clean the bathrooms and vacuum the floors, friends who called to say they were here in spirit when they were too far away… Continue

So ends Day 22

As the day ends, I have multiple piles in the corners of several rooms that are going to the Humane Society's thrift shop or are being posted on craigslist or 2good2toss for give-away. I really wanted to give this stuff away today - my need for organization was taking over the chaos - but the day has not gone according to my schedule. You are an ispriration to others, your courage and strength in the face of adversity. I too have worried with the economic times and may have to face the dreaded time one day, we just never know what the future holds for us. But you give us all hope, and we are learning that it is all in the way we approach it! Thanks for this wonderful learning gift!
