I just saw this post and you brought me to tears. I get so much joy out of what I'm doing that I don't really feel that I am "giving" anything. The work that I do with Operation Smiley Face is really a gift to ME. I have Mbali and Cami to thank fo...

Learning to receive was a challenge at first, but it didn't take long for me to see that the more I gave the more I received. So, I decided to just get used to the idea that when you give you receive. That's just the way it is. I think it's great ...

Wow you got! This challenge is about mindful giving. Finding ways to give "gifts" in our every day lifes. That takes awareness, which you demonstrated with your gift to the other driver. Sorry about the angry honks, but I hope that the smile of gr...

An apology definitely is a gift. As a child my father NEVER apologized even when it was clear that he was wrong about something. It would have meant everything to me for him to say sorry. So, good job to you! :)

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
I love the way giving makes me feel, and the impact it can have on others.
What I'd most like to receive:
I would love the financial ability to give as much as I want.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?

About me:
I was "blessed" with Multiple Sclerosis and have been living with it since the mid '90s. I consider it a blessing because it helped me figure out what was really important in my life. For me that's family, creating and giving. Now I focus my time and energy on those things, and I am the happiest I've ever been even though I live with health challenges.
Update: I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer in August 2009. My intital reaction was shock and fear, but I quickly decided to focus my attention on what makes me happy, and that's giving. I think it has made all the difference in my attitude through this journey.

Yesterday Day 8/Rnd 5 - A Giving Spree

I had a chemo treatment last Monday. The first week after can be rough on the body, and it has been for me. So yesterdy (Sunday) I decided to go on a little gifting spree and see if I could spread some smiles to others. It turned out to be good day of giving for me, and while I am still feeling the effects of the chemo my spirits are high.

Here are some of the gifts I gave:

1. Put money in the tip jar at Starbucks even though I didn't buy a drink.
2. Gave $1 ea to two little boys that were hel… Continue

Day 7 Round 5 - This is CRAZY!

The other day I blogged that I was going to challenge myself to not only give a gift a day but also give away an item that I own. It has been amazing at how many things have been coming to my mind that I had never thought of giving away. There is even stuff that I had forgotten that I had! It is further proof to me that when you make a decision the Universe supports you in getting it done. I am keeping a list of the items that I have given away and will post them all at the end of the rou… Continue

Round 5/Stepping It Up - A Gift PLUS A Give Away

I am committed to daily giftng, but I think I can step it up a little. This month I have decided to add on to the challenge. I will be giving a gift a day + a give away a day. The "give away" will be me releasing one item that I own. To really make it a challenge the same item can only be counted once. So if I give away 20 books that counts as 1 give away. Today is day 3 of my fifth round, and I haven't given away any personal items yet (I tried to yesterday but the person I was giving it to alr… Continue

The End of Round 4 - YES to Receiving

I love giving. I always have. Receiving on the other hand was much harder. I thought I was being "polite" by turning down gifts and kind gestures from people, but now I realize that giving is a two sided coin. When you give you will receive. That's just the way it is. So this round I said yes to receiving and WOW did I receive! As a result I feel so blessed, and that makes me want to give more! It's amazing how that works!

This giving journey has been amazing, and I look forward to the n… Continue

Gifts of Treats in the Mail

I'm giving (still going on):
I live on the main street of my town, and we get THOUSANDS, and I mean thousands of trick-or-treaters down here. But the funny thing is, none of them come up the steps to our apartment! So in order to be a part of things I dress up as S… Continue

Absolutely! Please go to www.madebysurvivors.com and go to the tab for their "store". You can read about their program and order directly there too if you see anything you like :-) I'd be happy to speak with you about this further and answer any questions you have.

Good Morning!! I am a new member( just joined yesterday) and I have a great giving idea for your cause. I am Ambassador for Made by Survivors which is a program that helps women and children who are victims of human slavery and trafficking through education, empowerment and the development of a sustainable income. They make beautifully handcrafted items such as jewelry, wallets, handbags, to name a few, but they also make many children's items..primarily for little girls though.. and they are adorable! They have Christmas products too! My idea was for myself and to encourage other ambassadors to donate some of the products that we sell to the children of your cause which would help both of them at the same time :-) I suggested this to Erin who thought it was a good idea and I wanted to ask you your thoughts as well. It brings me such joy to have the opportunity to support both wonderful causes..nothing feels better than to share love and kindness with others. I look forward to hearing back from you and send healing, positive energy your way ♥ Heather
