I've come to realize that sometimes "giving" is just releasing positive energy out into the world. The secret is to really aim it at those who are trying to "gift" you with their negative vibes. To...

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
It's so cliche, but, "Be the change you want to see in the world."
What I'd most like to receive:
A little less stress in my life. I want a moment every day where I can breathe, in and out, and realize that anything that is haunting me is only temporary. I have good health, a good job, 2 amazing grown children, great friends, and a man who loves me. Yet all the "noise" sometimes drowns out the ability to LIVE IN, not just EXIST IN, my LIFE>

And so it Ends.

Yesterday I wrote...and wrote...and wrote about the internal struggle I have had over the last week with the challenge...After admitting my inability to get out of my own way and just embrace the chance to give and, yes, even receive, I sat back and read and reread and then read the post one more time. I came to realize that my thinking wasn't out of line. My feelings weren't wrong. My perception of what I thought the challenge meant and how I should go about it weren't off kilter.

I was playin… Continue

Questions and, ummm, errr...Answers????

I haven't blogged since last Sunday. I have thought about doing it every day. I have logged in every day. Sometimes two or three times a day. Then logged out.

Why?

Why, when I was logging each day with joy and ease, did I suddenly not have the....the ability? desire? need? want? WHAT? to post.

Was I not giving each day? No. I gave. As mindfully as I could. Sunday I made breakfast, but then found myself horizontal, on the bed, under a blanket, drifting in and out pretty much the entire day. My… Continue

Piles and Piles of French Toast and a House of Books

Saturday would have been a great day to sleep in, but as sleep is eluding me lately that just didn't happen. I also had houseguests (the Awesome Boyfriends brother and nephew were here), so I got up and brewed the first of many pots of French Press coffee...If you haven't tried it: 1. It's EASY and 2. It beats brewed coffee any day....then made a huge pile of french toast, eggs, sausage...Obviously my giving this weekend has already begun to resemble a diner, but nothing says love like HOME COOK… Continue

Another Week of HUH?

5 more days have flown by...you know the Mon-Fri gig, and I'm celebrating with a glass of wine....ahhhh....I don't drink a lot. Don't like the way it makes me feel...and let's be honest the older I get the longer it takes me to recover, so heavy duty drinking (you know...2 drinks) is out...but occasionaly a glass of wine does take the edge off.

Part of the "edge" this week comes from un-named stress that I can't seem to shake, except that I haven't slept well at all this week. And I don't do we… Continue

Hey Julie!! haha, I am totally on the same page as you, Twilight seemed so silly, and then I bought the book for $5, and finished it in 2 days!!! I really had it stuck in my head they were for teenage girls who weren't crazy about reading to begin with! lol my husband thinks I am a vampire dork, and he may be right!! It just kind of sucked me in! Very unexpected, but also fun, and a nice little break from my crazy stay at home mom world...
Thank you for the comment, I'll let ya know how I like the rest of the books!!
