Mollie, you are so right - this story of Charlie and Ralph is powerful to say the least. I don't know which man I'm more in awe of. Charlie for living with the incredible pain of being shunned by humanity or Ralph for befriending a man he was repe...

Dear Lynn - thank you for this. Learning to say "I couldn't have known" is actually a gift worth learning how to give to ourselves. It leads to a forgiveness of self, a recognition of our own humanity. Beautiful.

One day it will be your story, too.

Yesterday I was looking over some quotes in my TellTale Souls material for an upcoming workshop and came across a poignant quote from Joyce Carol Oates in "Missing Mom."

"last time

Last time you see someone and you don't know it will be the last time. And all that you know now, if only you'd known then. But you didn't know, and now it's too late. And you tell yourself How Could I have known, I could not have known.

You tell yourself.

This is my story of miossing my mother. One day, in a way… Continue

Obsession, Passion, and Transformation make for Accordion Dreams

This memoir is among the books I think of as a gift. I was lured into Blair Kilpatrick’s memoir, Accordion Dreams: A Journey into Cajun and Creole Music, the moment I saw the charming cover depicting a happy little girl holding her accordion, although I was surprisingly unprepared for the extent of the… Continue

Teacher's Pet Goes Back to School

I close my eyes; I’m back there banging fat felt eraser blocks together making chock dust clouds slide down the slanted rays of sunshine coming through the open window on this golden afternoon the first week of 3rd grade. I try not to breathe that fuzzy stuff in, but it doesn’t really matter becaus… Continue

Hello- I thought this was nice for everyone regardless of religion or beliefs. Have a peaceful, beautiful day of the spirit.

A holiday affirmation:

I embrace the holiday season with joy and an open heart. I look at this time of year through the eyes of a child full of excitement. I gift others with kindness and a sincere smile. I feel at peace and view my life as the miracle that it is.

Thanks for the friendship invite, its great that you are so open-hearted, we live in world where it's about "me" and forget about the others. The fact that you want to help suicidal people is awesome. It's a gift of helping others appreciate the "gift of life'....kind of chessy wasn't that but it seemed appropriate.

Thanks for inviting me as a friend. Actually, I only knew in hindsight that my spiritual questioning and curiosity beginning at around age 6 or 7 was really the beginning of a lifelong passion. Your website and what you do looks fascinating.
