Why I'm choosing to give:
I've been blessed. Hope Lives!
What I'd most like to receive:
The opportunity to give more.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
My friend, life coach, Christina Brandt.
About me:
I am a five year breast cancer kicking survivor, health activist, and mother of three teenagers, as well as the founder of the grassroots non-profit organization, The Get In Touch Foundation. GIT's cornerstone mission is the Get In Touch Girls' Program & Daisy Wheel, which teaches girls in grades 5-12 the importance of, and how to do a breast self exam.

I thank God every day for giving me the opportunity to "change the world one girl at a time!"

Day 29

Ahh...the end of my first 29-Days! The beginning of a brand new way of looking at the way I give AND receive.

I finish this "challenge" the same way I began it...by inviting friends to give it a whirl, open their eyes, step out of their box, "be the change they wish to see in the world."

We love generosity. It begins with us.

We love kindness. It begins with us.

We love to make a difference in the world. It begins with us.

The "challenge" was more of a mindful practice for me than it… Continue

Day 28

I was delighted to have been asked by a fabulous entrepreneurial gal-pal to submit an article for her on-line business community, Networking Events NY. Hard to believe I had a little difficulty coming up with just the right tone - my mix of a practical, reality-based, sunshiny, fairy-dust-filled approach can't always be limited to "mere words!"

Please check out her site - it's www.NetworkingEventsNY.com and click on the "Women Who Inspire" area to get a little chuckle with a dash of practicalit… Continue

Day 27

I had a wonderful evening last night...a friend held a fundraiser for Get In Touch at her hair salon - a "Healthy Cocktail Party" - and it was wonderful to be with women interested in healthy living, celebrating survivorship and "girl power!"

One of the gals there opened up to me about the painful loss of her sister to a very rare cancer five years ago. She asked me if I would be willing to be the Keynote Speaker for the Luminaria Ceremony at the Relay For Life in Waterbury, CT on June 6th. She… Continue

Day 26

Ahhh...this past week was a difficult one to eek the time out to post on this site - please forgive me! I probably should give myself the gift of forgiveness, too!

Well, I can tell you about the wonderful "giving" exchange I was a part of yesterday - it filled my heart with such h… Continue

Day 25

I gave some words of encouragement today to a friend who had an argument with her teenage daughter this week.

Kids don't come with a set of "instructions" and we oftentimes have to parent "by the seat of our pants" - but it's always nice to cry on a friend's shoulder.

Sure am glad I've got big shoulders!

Hope Lives!
