I will pray for your cousin's family. I also suggest you add your wish for help on WishUponAHero.com, along with a PayPal link. You never know. I have a lottery ticket from Friday that I haven't checked yet. If I won, I'll help your cousin.

Why I'm choosing to give:
I'm a lifelong "giver" and I want to support your awesome effort.

Also, I currently have many issues in my life that are keeping me from functioning at 100%. Thanks for the venue to help me refocus on the positive.
What I'd most like to receive:
Relief from constant pain so I can do more.
A new job that will enable my husband and I to move to the country and live happily ever after with our two moms, lots of foster children and pets, and enough acreage for them all to roam and play (especially our moms!).

Five pennies

Last night my husband and I walked our dog Jack (actually, he usually walks us, but I'm working on that...) around the park for a total of 3 miles! I made a firm commitment to myself that I am going to walk every day to lose weight, get in shape and consistently train Jack.

So today, I got up early, threw on comfortable clothes and took Jack for our daily walk around the park. We live in an old, established neighborhood where my parents were among the first residents some 55 years ago. Walking… Continue

Days 2 & 3, Round 2: Unemployed 29Gifters, Homeless Cats, Island Calendars, and Loads of Candy

My gifts for yesterday and today (so far):

1. I'm continuing to read through as many 29Gift member profiles as I can and inviting those who are unemployed to a new group on 29 Gifts called Seeking Employment.

My hope is that recruiters, job seekers, and anyone wanting to help others find employment, join this group and work together to improve America's unemployment rate. We can also help each other with resumes, cover lette… Continue

Day 1, Round 2: Today is all about 29 on October 29th on 29 Gifts

After completing and blogging my first round of giving with 29 Gifts, I became a volunteer and have put more effort into welcoming and encouraging other members than into my second round of giving. I still gave often, but stopped blogging my experiences.

I read a blog today where the new member decided to start the challenge today, since it's October 29th, hoping for good karma. So I'm doing the same and restarting my second round of giving and blogging for 29 days today.

Coincidentally, the c… Continue

A great give and receive kind of day

Today's winner of the Calligraphy set I donated for a 29Gifts raffle is Becky Erickson! Congrats, Becky! You are my big give for today.

A most wonderful give was sent to me remotely today from fellow 29Gifter and Reiki Master Franny. She had read my profile and saw that I was in need of chronic pain relief. Franny generously used her skills as a conduit to send healing my way. While I didn't receive instant pain relief (Franny said that can come over a couple of days), I definitely felt a warmi… Continue

A Gift for Cami

While reading a Glamour magazine at the eye doctor today, I noticed a contest for Woman of the Year. Naturally, I thought of our founder and new author, Cami Walker. Cami, my gift to you today was to nominate you for this very deserving title.

TODAY is the deadline for nominations, but if you hurry, you might get a chance to nominate Cami and/or another incredible woman you know before the day is over.

Good luck, Cami!… Continue

Thank you for the gift, Mary! And thanks for letting me know about the artists group. I hadn't explored enough yet to find it. I also saw the writers group out there. I will be joining both groups as I write about the healing power of art. Thanks again and I wish you a lovely rest of the weekend.

Mary, Thank you for the two gifts you gave me this morning! When I woke up I was delighted by the "you are a gift" gift and then when I saw your new group, I was excited! Thank you for caring, for reaching out and helping others as they start the first leg of this journey, and then some!

Hi Mary,
Thank you so much for your gift! It was such a special surprise this morning to see that someone I'd otherwise never had known, knew something about me and gave me a gift! There's something magical about that.
I haven't figured out what gift credits mean or quite how this site works, so I thought I would share a quote with you that I think you might like.
"Look forward and be hopeful, look backward and be thankful, look downward and be helpful, look upward and be humble." - Unknown
Have a beautiful Saturday Mary!
