What an inspiring, strong woman your aunt was!! A true salt-of-the-earth woman. I wish more children could have a strong influence like that in their lives. You are blessed. I'm glad you have so many warm memories of her.

Day 12 - Remembering Aunt Ellie Marshall

This morning, November 16, 2009, Ella Marshall McCord Beasley, of Williamson County, TN, went home to be with the Lord. Born on May 21, 1913, the third child of Annie Morton Millard and Edgar Davis McCord of Williamson County, TN, Aunt Ellie was 96 when she passed. Aunt Ellie was one of 13 children and the last remaining child of her parents. Aunt Ellie was my favorite aunt because she was so fun to be around. Fun being a relative word, (no pun intended), she was firm and kindly at the same time… Continue

Day 10 - The Red Head @ Target

I've been a DIY hair colorer for a number of years using the drugstore box kind of color. My dear sweet friend/stylist Karen, who owns a shop in Winter Park, Flordia, and where I've been going for 4.5 years, took pity on my hair several months ago and offered me a hair color deal I couldn't refuse. Using higher quality salon color, she tamed the flaming red that was my all too often result in the search for the perfect shade. Now, for the record, I am a blond with a little itty bitty bit of redd… Continue

Days 1,2 and 3 of Giving

I just finished reading Cami Walker's book last Thursday, 11/5, and signed up that morning. I am not accustomed to talking about my giving so writing about specifics is a bit difficult for me. But here goes....

On Friday, November 6, 2009, my first gift was to my friend, Brenda, who was visiting from Atlanta. I gave her a patent leather animal print pda case. I had recently received it myself but as I don't have a pda, it made a perfect pass along for my first gift.

On day 2, I fixed a real So… Continue
