Why I'm choosing to give:
It's just the right thing to do. I love the idea, I love how it makes you feel and a huge believer of the "what you put out, you get back theory" of life!
What I'd most like to receive:
I love music so much and I really enjoy sharing it as well. I'll take anything involving my music. From a few new fans to seeing my music becoming my sole thrilling income. (getting out of the red and seeing the black on my spread sheets) You always hear of the "struggling, starving musicians" It can be a battle sometimes to keep going but it's just something I've never been able to shake. I can see the day clearly in my head, having the gratitude for "never giving up" because somewhere deep inside of me, I knew I'd get there. Does that make sense? :)
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
I had the pleasure of meeting Cami and her husband at a church performance about a month ago. They are such great folks and I was totally into what they have started - Such a great idea and challenge.
About me:
I am a singer/songwriter in the Los Angeles area. I've been fortunate enough to get involved with "Positive Music" scene here and travel to various "new thought" churches sharing my music -- I LOVE IT --

I've just finished my second CD "Why Can't I" and I'm in the process of promoting the new material.

So I slacked!

I like to say I fell off the wagon, yet again ... a little while ago -- this is me "getting back on"

I've recommitted to the GIVE a few days ago and I pledge to do my best to keep up with the BLOG! That's always the "kicker" for me ... I do the giving -- I just have trouble with the reporting side of it.

17 & 18 ... Here we go!

Well first thing in my inbox day yesterday was a note from a friend who is doing the AIDS walk coming up asking for a little support --- So I thought -- well, doesn't that just work out well -- A completely unexpected "give" -- I didn't even have to plan that out! I forgot one ...

As I finished my last blog... I got a little more organized -- made a quick little chart -- with gives and the days I have done and ones left to go -- I realized -- I did a great give and totally forgot --

Oh, I've been bad!

So technically I should be on day 20 ... HOWEVER, I've been bad. Not that I haven't been giving mind you because if you have read this blog at all you know I've been giving presents to a certain birthday girl for a long time on my "40 days of presents" idea.

Day 12 - "taking it easy"

So today I didn't have a "give idea" pop out at me and I thought -- through out the day I'll just see where it goes and what might come my way. Well, nothing really did and then I thought "hang on a minute Melissa" -- My partner is turning 40 this October and a while ago a friend of mine was telling me how she did "30 days of presents" for her husband when he turned 30. no. no music on cd's. the doc said my singing voice would come back in about 1 year. so i am practicing although i don't like the way my voice cracks i know it will get better eventually. you have a great weekend too! it's suppose to be beautiful in the northeast. low 70's. take care. renee' : )
