Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
I believe in paying forward. And I get joy out of making someone smile.
What I'd most like to receive:
The joy of giving. Cause people to think of others not just of themselves.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
my mother
About me:
I am 35 going to 36 single women. I was diagnosed with MS 2 years ago after being sick with random different things for about 5 years. Was happy to hear that I was not going crazy and that it was not all in my head (well it really is. LOL) I am currently fighting to get SSI. Yes I have problems and have good days and bad, but at least I know why. I have a great friend who has given me many thing, but the thing I am the most grateful for is teaching me how to be positive. I am blessed for having her as a friend, I have been a believer in paying forward since watching the movie and this is just another way of doing this. I try to live by the golden rule, I do not always succeed but I do try. Life is to short to live with regrets. Seizes the moment because we do not know if there will be another.

Day 4

I let a girlfriend go through my books. (I have my own library as I like to re-read books so I never give them away.) I gave her a box of books. Not much.

Day 3

I did not have a great day but had a friend call me and she came to visit. My friend is taking care of her dad you has Alzheimer. We talked for a couple of hours. I ended up putting a apple pie that my mom had made and frozen in to bake. I was having trouble as nothing sounded good to eat, and that had some appeal. I gave her 1/2 the apple pie as I know I did not need to eat the whole thing and she would enjoy it. Not much but It was something.

Day 2

Well today started out great. I had energy so I called my friend and ended up meeting her at the babysitter house (she is also a GREAT friend) I had printed out the blogs from make a child smile and took that with me. (these friends do not have computer at home to use) I wanted to share this with them. My day then started to go down hill. I had terrible trouble with my legs today. They just hurt. I wanted to bye the movie Up and let the kids at the sitters house watch it. So I finally got out th… Continue

Day 1

Today I gave $0.01 to a stranger who was checking out and her total was $8.01 and she was going to give them $9. I offered to give her a penny so she did not have to deal with .99 in change as I know it would have made me unhappy if I did not have a penny. She smiled and said thank you and that she would pay it forward. To me it was enough to see her smile.

I would like to add that I LOVE reading everyones blogs. It does a heart and soul good to see some many people stepping up to the plate!!!… Continue

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.

What a gorgeous picture! Your story reminds me I need to keep a sense of humor when dealing with my own teenagers. It's a roller coaster of emotions when dealing with teens. I guess all you can do is hold on tight and try to enjoy the ride!
