yes

Giving an act of conscious.

Part of being self aware beings, is the choices we make on how we react to things. So many people tend only to react rather than try and pro-act. One of the things I have tried to do as a Catholic is have a very active daily walk and act with God. It is too easy to let things slide into the background in the day to day things of 'going through the motions'. As and Artist and Writer, this can be deadly to my creativity, not to mention my spirit. So giving for 29 days, is a way of celebrating the extraordinary act of ordinary kindness from one being to another.

Life is what we make it, and I want to make it wonderful.

Re: Prayers for Isabella Rose

Still awaiting word. I just re-read the original post an apparently the surgery can take up to 16 hours! Oh my gosh, that is so long for anyone to be under, let alone a baby! Keep the prayers coming, as soon as I know, I will post. Love to all!

Runionation of Funerals and other Reunions...

I had to keep retyping Funeral as I kept typing Runerals, Like Ruins and Funerals together since it seems like Funerals that bring the family together often bring the families ruins as well...

A most curious couple of events happen to my husband and I that cause me to rethink things. As a person of my age, one would think the play ground antics of childhood would have long since past. I know that I practice the golden rule religiously to ensure it remains for the most part intact. Not just beca… Continue

Giving also requires asking hard questions....

Why do we let prisoners Live?
Lets face it. Once someone goes to prison, their life is over, right? No one is going to hire them, no one is going to let them live anywhere near them, so there so social method for them to get back to society. So why bother to let them live at all? If we ostracized them this much, should we not just kill them off? Of course cries of compassion and being accused of being harsh comes up. Sure, but… Continue

thank you for sharing your story. i am so glad that your sister made it through. the sad truth is that the majority of people with such problems don't. i think the key is being able to imagine a different life. perhaps knowing only the street, your former BIL was unable to do that.
while society at large tends to stereotype and discriminate against offenders, the support and belief of even one person can make all the difference.
i remember you said you were going to move to the country. how much longer before you get to live your dream?

Like I lot of us, been under the weather, physically and in other ways also. Had some serious flu times, and yet things are also easing up in other ways. Bizarre happenings, and good times as well, all go hand in hand. The cat I am holding in my arms in my profile picked, is the source of a current lawsuit against us from a neighbor who is convince that my Sammy is her Peaches. The latest in various acts since October when she saw him. If you want more details, you can look for tags Sammy, Samuel, Cat at my xanga blog

But God still prevails. We lost our Saturn Ion to Repo-tow, but just yesteday got a Saturn LS2, older model, but better milage and a better car! From St. Vicendet De Paul, in order for me to continue to do the work God has called me to do. To teach the children Deaf and hearing of Deaf parents. So like I say, Bizarre things, but good things too. Round and round it goes.

I have lost track of what round I am in. But happy to say its become a lifestyle choice. Smile.

Hello- I thought this was nice for everyone regardless of religion or beliefs. Have a peaceful, beautiful day of the spirit.

A holiday affirmation:

I embrace the holiday season with joy and an open heart. I look at this time of year through the eyes of a child full of excitement. I gift others with kindness and a sincere smile. I feel at peace and view my life as the miracle that it is.

Nancy Louise, you made my day! Your kindness and wisdom gave me a new perspective in which to see things from my brother's eyes. He does have a beautiful spirit. I will never forget what he said one day, out of the blue, to me. He said, "one day, Karen, I won't need this old wheelchair or these legs that don't walk, because I will have wings and fly!". I will never be bitter towards him just occasionally frustrated like everyone gets with a family member from time to time. The beauty of your spirit shines through in all that you do. Shine on, girl, shine on!
