Why I'm choosing to give:: My father and best friend had a major stroke and in the process of having to put him in a nursing facility my family disintegrated. I'm grieving the person my dad was and trying to love the dad that has no voice but uses expressions who has to use a wheelchair. If he can accept his situation with grace I figured I can pass on the gifts he gave me with my voice.

What I'd most like to receive:: I would like to feel confident and balance inside and out.

GC 27 The gift of prayer. With the storm coming I took every opportunity I found to pray for my family and my neighbors. GC 25 Was feeling a bit lost today so i used the giving ideas and gave a gift of rice and the gift of a mammogram. It left me feeling much more focused and calm GC 26 The gift of coffee for my boys. I can't believe I'm on day 23... Today I gave the gift of a gift.Last years I was blessed to win an award for my teaching. Part of the award entitled me to a $200 gift check to use toward equipment (I’m a PE teacher). Unfortunately the company that sponsors the gift does not deal with my district. Over the past year I have wanted to give it to a school in need and today I offered it to a person/school that could really use it. I hope many children I may never see will benefit from it.See More

GC 19 The gift of sisterhood. Friday was a hard day for my sister and I. I am not going to go into it but my gift for the day was to give my sister all my love and support. GC 13Saturday came in the north east with a cold frost and hit my fig tree hard. I went out early and picked the last 6 figs to bring to my dad in the nursing facility. His eyes filled with joy and a bit of sad when I told him they were the last of the season. It was as it should be I gave him the first figs and the last figs of the season. I love him so much! I have been giving my gifts but forgetting to write them out. I think I need to make time for reflection... I feel like when I reflect I remember the people not only with gifts but with in my prayers.
