Hi and welcome. I'm so glad you decided to join us.

Enjoy your 29 Days and don't forget to share some stories to help inspire others. If you need help posting in your Personal Giving Blog, follow the directions here.

PLEASE HELP US GROW: Our initial goal is to have 2,000 committed givers by the end of September. Please help spread the word. Email the 29gifts.org link to friends and invite them to join us. Write about the challenge and include a badge or our video on your website, blog, facebook, or myspace page. Or forward the 29Gifts.org link to media contacts.

Good giving!

P.S. Don't miss our cool new downloadable gift card and handy 29-Day Giving Calendar, which helps you keep track of your gifts.

P.P.S. Make sure you check out our CAUSE OF THE MONTH. As a community we're supporting the Charity Water September Birthday Campaign. We're trying to raise $4,000 to build a well in an Ethiopian villiage, which will provide clean drinking water for 400 people for 20 years. Read all about it here.

Day 3 - Some Quality Time and Some Gratitude

Today was a simple one, and yet it made me (and my kids) feel good.

The power went out, due to massive outages caused by the storm. No internet, no television, not a whole lot of anything. So what did me and the kids do? What any sensible family does. We played outside.

We ran around in the wind, we hooped with joy as large gusts enveloped us, we squealed when we were pelted with the spiny sweetgum balls that came flying from the tree in the front yard. And then when it was too dark to see any… Continue

Soccer.

Like lemmings, hundreds of parents just like me drive down to the local sports complex to watch our darlings kick a ball around. My son has been playing since he was four -- that's nearly five years on a soccer field -- and he's GOOD. But because it's a rec league, some games you win, and some games you lose. There are few teams that… Continue

We shall see how the day progresses, and see what opportunities might arise.

Addendum -- It's now just after 1 am, and my day has wound down. I did ind… Continue
