Starting Over

So, here we are, a few days past my Day 29. Obviously, I'm better at giving than at blogging!

I continued to give, but got really lazy about keeping track. There was the day I surprised my boyfriend with soup for lunch from a local restaurant because I happened to be driving past our house during the work day... there was the coffee I treated his sister to, and the coupons clipped for a friend, extending an invitation to meet for lunch to a total stranger I met by accident and clicked with....… Continue

Day #18 A Gift of Comfort

These gifts fell right in my lap and were almost too easy. First, a friend actually asked me for help "if I had the time." (Of course I do.) I spent some time researching massage therapists in our area who do prenatal massage, and put together a list for her. She's pregnant and has a 1-yr old about to start walking any day, so she's exhausted. She suffers from chronic pain and has never had bodywork, so I guess she was feeling a little overwhelmed about where to start. It was quick and easy for… Continue

Day #17 Back on Track

Wow, look at me getting lazy...
About the blogging, that is. There's been a lot going on around here--it's autumn in New England afterall. Rest assured, the gifting continues, I've just been horrible about keeping track of it. It's hard to find the time when there are fall festivals to attend, foliage to gawk at, apples to pick, etc. I absolutely love fall, except for the horrendous allergies that make me look like I was punched in the face and make it hard to breathe. 'Cause that's, you know, k… Continue

Days #5, 6 and 7

Life got ahead of me for a few days and I wasn't finding much time to write (or give, for that matter). This is one of the things I hate the most about having a 9-5 job: everything you need to do is secondary to someone else's "to do" list. And then everything you want to do falls even further down the list. I happen to think my time management skills are pretty top notch, but there's no denying that 8+ hours a day dedicated to achieving someone business else's goals is really too much. (… Continue

Day #4: Piece of Cake!

Well, today was easy! My friend, Jessie, commented in her blog that she enjoyed my photos. Aha! She inspired a surprise, but I won't spoil it for her by saying what it is. Let's just say, something better than bills will be in her mailbox this week.

And, I made a small (ok, teeny tiny) donation to the fund for Elysia Skye. It won't necessarily be the only one I make, but for today, it was what I could do. (Note to self: I have to learn to focus on "good" and not fret about the black hole known… Continue

You can give to plants as well as to people, and have that count, right? Plants are so grateful for being loved and nourished.
