Why I'm choosing to give:
Giving and doing for others helps to take my mind off of my problems and enables me to feel better about myself.

Less time to think of the paini and suffering of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Depression
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
A friend gave me the book.
About me:
I am a 61 year old retired vocal music teacher. I have been married to John for 39 years! Sandra, You had a question on how to support Lubabat- if you go to the home page of the 29 gifts website and click on "November Cause of the Month", you can read all about Lubabat and what she is doing, if you have questions after that, send me another message. Thanks so much!

Welcome to 29 Gifts! I'm so glad you decided to join us.

Enjoy your 29 Days and don't forget to share some stories to help inspire others. If you need help posting in your Personal Giving Blog, follow these directions.

Help Us Grow: Please help spread the word. We're striving to reach our goal of 29,000 committed givers, and you can help: Send this Invitation to friends, write about the challenge and include a badge or our video on your website, blog, facebook, or myspace page.

The book 29 Gifts: How a Month of Giving Can Change Your Life - authored by 29 Gifts founder Cami Walker is now in stores. You can also buy through Amazon.

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.

My original plan for today was to take my mother to senior day at Belks (extra discounts) and have lunch with her. That all went awry as the day progressed. I'll spare the details, but the loss of my father (he died on August 4th) overwhelmed the ...

Today my sister asked if I would pick-up my niece after school. Normally, her daddy (my sister's ex-husband) would pick her up as it is his parenting time with the girls. He called at the last minute and cancelled his day. This threw my sister int...

There was a time when I would say, "If a person relies on tips to make her living, she'd better act like it." I won't lie and say that I'll never say that again. For my first day of giving, however, I decided to acknowledge someone who doesn't wor...
