Starting 29 days again.

Hmmm...I have decided to start 29 Days again. I had previously started but it faded out after about 2-3weeks. Life happened. I want to get back into focusing on the 'gives' and 'receives' in my everyday life. My husband and I have also made a pact to be less negative - especially about other people. I officially started again yesterday donating a can of dog food to the local animal shelter. Today I have given my young son some special time playing trains with him. I think tomorrow I will give my… Continue

And so it began...

Well...this is one interesting challenge! I signed up yesterday for the 29 day giving challenge. I will inform you in a moment of the events that transpired after I signed up. But first, my gift for the day...

Today was my first official day. For my first gift I gave the gift of hope which may (?!?) lead to the gift of life. Recently I returned to Australia from living in Thailand for 5 months. Whilst in Thailand I joined a playgroup to meet other mums and so that my young son could socialise w… Continue

Sioban, I find that a surprising amount if not all of life can be a spiritual journey. It amazes me that there continues to be experiences to be had and lessons to learn. Welcome! In joy, Shawna

Hey Sioban!
Welcome from the US! I am sharon and from the town of Woodstock, Ga just about 20 minutes north of Atlanta.
I am on the 4th round of 29 days and having the time of my life. The challenge has become a wonderful way for me to be MINDFUL, funny you should use that word, cause I do all the time explaining how this works for me!
I give every day, had to get a habit of giving, took a few weeks, then had to make a habit of blogging, took less time. I realized quickly that the whole thing was being mindful of what goes out, and what comes back. Writing EVERY night made me look at how I was changing my focus to the wonderful things I was doing, and how wonderful people were treating me! I found out I give all the time, smiles, hugs, breaks in traffic, time, love, compliments, and then I can up it a level by giving things I do not need, up it again, by giving things I don't want to give away! Sometimes I buy things to make jewelry, and give it away, I LOVE that, people do too. Anyway, so much to do here, rad some front page discussions, some blogs, make friends, comment to folks, get involved in a group in your area where you can meet local givers, I started one here, we have about 12 members now, and are meeting for coffee Saturday! Big day! Stay in touch, ask if you need any help, I will get answers, if I do not have them!.
