Good give, Soccer guy, time is definitely one of the best gives-- after all, we all only have so much time, unlike money we can't 'make' more time, so the only way to get more is as a gift! and your future students will benefit too!

Why I'm choosing to give:
Saw the founder Cami on the Today show and know quite a few people with MS and I think it's a really good idea ....
and a good way to round out what has been kind of a crappy year all around for me and most people i know with the recession and worries over the economy ....but people should see that just by extending some kindness and gifts towards others some good can karma should come back ...
What I'd most like to receive:
I found 2009 to be such a year of "rudeness" and coldness from so many people worried about the economy and hope that by extending the idea of gifting to people that some good will come out of it and rub off on others....
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?

DAY 11 OF 29

Today I was watching the Today show and all this week they have had a segment on about the St. Jude Children's hospital and they have a regular donation drive every year around the American Thanksgiving called "Thanks and Giving ." This is a hospital that does such great work in the field of children's cancers and I am amazed and impressed at the great research and facilities they have ....This hospital was started by Danny Thomas and his daughter Marlo carries on the tradition of being the Nati… Continue

DAY 10 OF 29

Today I gave of my time .....I am going to teach a course at a community college next semester and went out to the college today and observed what the students are doing this semester and where their skill levels are ...this was totally on my time and I was not paid for this ....I ended up helping out two of the other instructors since one of the other instructors was away today and they were run off their feet a bit since it is a three hour tv production lab ....
Giving your time is probably th… Continue

DAY NINE OF 29

Today was a rather frantic and busy day but I did succeed in giving a gift - again I gave a ride to one of my colleagues since we live very close by each other and were both going to the same work meeting ....so I suggested giving her a ride to and from the meeting.

DAY EIGHT OF 29

Today I gave left over lasagna to two friends of mine . They had just gotten back from a long weekend away and she ran a 50 mile ultramarathon ! I figured they might not have done any grocery shopping so offered to give them the lasagna for dinner . Dropped it off and they gave me an espresso maker that they were given but had no need for.
When you give , sometimes you get back. That's what I'm seeing . But also seeing how rude some people can be still and I guess when you are in an extra giving… Continue

Welcome to the site and to the Challenge! I am also new to this site, I'm on Day 3 of 29. Love your gives so far, very thoughtful, especially driving your friend's wife and her kids. I agree with your comment that 2009 has been a very "rude" year, for lack of a better word. Hopefully we will be able to turn that around at least in our little corners of the world! Good luck with your 29 days:)

One way to get the word out of what you are doing is to print out the little papers on here that show the website and explain what you are doing! A great way to add to our family :) .

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

Mary

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.
